TWO DAY, TWO NIGHT HOWQUA RIVER RIDE

Experience the ultimate High Country adventure with our two night, one day ride through the spectacular Howqua River region. Arrive at The Hideout on Friday evening at your leisure, where you can relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings. The next morning, enjoy a hearty cooked breakfast before heading out to our family-owned high country farm, rich with Watson family history. From there, set off on horseback through Dungeon Gully, following bridle tracks along creek beds and open trails toward the Howqua River. Stop for a scenic lunch at The Hideout before continuing along the high track through Running Creek Reserve, enjoying panoramic river views. The return journey includes thrilling river crossings and opportunities to trot and canter along the trail. Evening brings a chance to unwind with a hot shower, a BBQ dinner, and a large campfire under the stars.

On the second day, after a wholesome country breakfast, ride toward Kate Camerons Peak to see the iconic jump scene from the “Man from Snowy River” movie. Take in breathtaking views over the Howqua Valley before returning to the farm for lunch to conclude your adventure. This immersive experience combines stunning landscapes, wildlife encounters, and cinematic history, perfect for riders of all abilities.
