Women’s Day Oyster Experience Celebrates Flavour, Friendship and the Sea

A special International Women’s Day event is set to celebrate women, friendship and fine food with a unique, ladies-only oyster tasting experience. Guests will enjoy a relaxed session that pairs education with indulgence, offering a deeper appreciation of one of the ocean’s most prized delicacies, all in the company of a welcoming and social atmosphere.

The experience introduces participants to the concept of “merroir,” exploring how environment, tides and estuary conditions influence the taste, texture and character of oysters. Guided by experts, attendees will sample oysters from two distinct growing regions, learning how subtle differences in origin can dramatically shape flavour profiles.

Adding further depth to the session, an oyster grower will share firsthand insights into the cultivation process, offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at the journey from estuary to plate. Participants will also gain practical knowledge on how to select fresh, high-quality oysters using simple sensory cues.

The workshop concludes with a hands-on introduction to oyster shucking, giving guests a new culinary skill to take home. Each participant leaves with a recipe booklet and Sydney Seafood School apron, along with lasting memories of a fun, informative and empowering celebration of seafood and women.
