We had great time on via appia and after that we used cyclo road to circo maximo around caracal baths.

It was very nice to be able to cycle along the ancient Appian Way for a few kilometers outside Rome. No cars or motorbikes to disturb the rural peace, just the occasional jogger or dog walker. Ruins of ancient villas, forts or shrines among the shady pine trees. It was easy to imagine what a variety of scenes this ancient highway has witnessed over the last 2300 years: merchants and travellers on foot or horseback, soldiers, pilgrims, government emissaries, ox-drawn carts, herds of cattle and goats being driven to market. The road surface can be rough at times, and you may need to ride through large shallow puddles, but who can complain when the worst stretches of deeply rutted flagstones may have been laid down by Roman engineers in 312 BC?
Carlos

The best way to do the Via Appia is in bycicle hands down. It is a moderate adventure if you wish to get to the end of the map. Take a lot of water with you, something to eat too. Enjoy your meal sitting down on a rock, or grass. Also, in some parts there are cars and motos passing by, just be aware. But, this was one of the highlights of Rome for me.

This was one of my favourite activities on our trip to Rome! We hired mountain bikes all day, and spent about 4 hours going along the trail and back again. Some of the route is very bumpy and so we had to bike along the sides but this made for a really fun cycle! Lots to see along the route and we even stopped to sit on the grass to have a picnic with wine. Would recommend. Route there and back was about 15-16km.

This was an amazing tour! We toured ancient catacombs, biked along the Appian Way, and got some great views of Roman aqueducts. Our guide, Laura, was great! She was very knowledgeable about the sights and a lot of fun. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

Emanuele, Peppo, and Marco gave us the Greatest experience of History of the Roman empire and the history and engineers that created the Aquaducts. Emanuele knowledge of Ancient History of Rome and so many names of great men that made a difference in the Roman Empire is Outstanding, Ottimo!!! He should be a History Professor! Saw so much during our adventure! All at the same time they made sure of our safety. Marco did excellent job on filming our adventure. We are going to take so much back home and great experience and share with our families and friends! Great Thanks for such a great Experience Enanuele!! Until next time we come again.
Valentina
