This is my favorite place to get hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is the best I’ve found in Boston, the atmosphere is cozy & warm feeling,& the chocolate is delicious. *Pricing is a bit steep with a small hot chocolate currently costing $7.50 & a large costing $9. But it’s certainly worth it as a treat.

Lovely hot chocolate and chocolates here. This is the best in Boston, loved by locals and visitors equally and has a variety of other bakery stuff. Do check out the cute chocolate mice, penguins and turkeys in addition to other pieces. I tried the hot dark chocolate and ginger cake, and both were outstanding. A must do when in Boston!

The atmosphere of this pastry shop is warm and inviting, with a cozy vibe that makes it a perfect spot to relax. The pastries are beautifully crafted and delicious, and I highly recommend trying the different varieties of hot chocolate—they are rich, indulgent, and unforgettable. While it is definitely on the pricier side, the quality and experience make it worth a visit if you’re in Boston.

Oh CHOCOLATE !!! For those whom love chocolate, this place was HEAVENLY !!! :) Our friends took my wife and me to L.A. Burdick's Handmade chocolates. It was originally to have a cup of hot chocolate but we definitely did not stop at that ! :). Firstly, their hot chocolate was a nice deep rich chocolate flavor (not too sweet, not too bitter --- seriously it was just right and perfect because I was freezing in Boston !!! :). After drinking a cup, we did a bit of shopping for gifts and they have seriously cute chocolate gifts there. I think I was most impressed by the man behind the cash register. He definitely had a passion to talk about the chocolates, how they select their cocoa beans and everything and make the chocolates themselves. He told me a bit about the history of their chocolate store too. But, it was obvious, he had that chocolate passion (thanks for sharing I can't wait to go back someday and get more chocolate from your shop) Would I go back there again ? ABSOLUTELY !!! I loved it so much, I tagged it in my Google Maps GPS !!! (so I can remember how to get there :) 2025-04-05 we went back again for their hot chocolate. Great stuff !!!

L.A. Burdick Handmade Chocolates is a cozy, elegant chocolate shop and café in Boston’s Back Bay that feels like stepping into a European chocolate salon. Known for its artisanal approach, L.A. Burdick is all about quality, detail, and unforgettable flavor. Here’s why it stands out: Their signature chocolate mice and penguins are as adorable as they are delicious. The hot chocolate is legendary—rich, velvety, and made from real melted chocolate (choose from dark, milk, or white). They serve French-style pastries and elegant desserts that pair perfectly with their drinks. The atmosphere is warm, quiet, and beautifully decorated—perfect for a cozy afternoon or a thoughtful gift stop.
