We stayed at the holiday home La Perla Negra for a week in October/November 2024. Unfortunately, the journey wasn't ideal due to numerous airport delays, but our host was incredibly patient and friendly despite our late arrival. We met in the village so he could lead the way to the house, which was quite an adventure in the dark. Despite being quite exhausted and tired, we were greeted by a breathtaking view of the house, the grounds, and the panorama. Our fatigue vanished instantly. The host leaves the house spotlessly clean. Everything you need for your stay is provided. Upstairs, you enter the kitchen and dining area. From there, you can access a small bathroom with a shower. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. From the kitchen, you enter the living room, which features two large sofas, a small sofa, and a fireplace. Beyond that lies the conservatory we mentioned, which offers a wonderful view down to Icod and the sea beyond. Everything is furnished with great care and taste. There's also central heating, which we had to use every evening. Whether you spend your days by the pool enjoying the view of Mount Teide or down to the sea, or your evenings in the conservatory watching the planes, the roads, or the fishing boats on the water, it's never boring, and it's so peaceful. We also received some tips on good restaurants and the best way to get down to Icod. Since Spanish is my second native language, we had a very pleasant chat a few days later when the host visited again (after announcing his visit in advance, of course). The property is very spacious and lovingly decorated with flowers and many small details, making it a joy to explore and discover everything else you can find. The house and the view were a dream come true for us, and I would gladly recommend this little gem to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway away from mass tourism. Wonderful place to relax and enjoy a vacation.
The accommodation as a whole is very comfortable, with central heating, a dining area near the kitchen, a sitting area with a fireplace and views of the plain (wonderful at night - see photo) and Mount Teide, a bedroom upstairs with a very comfortable bed and another bedroom with two single beds. The exterior is magnificent with a beautiful garden. On the other hand, the bathroom is small for four people, the weather in September is unpredictable (the temperature drops quickly with cloud cover), and access by road is complicated (very steep).
La Perla Negra is an outstanding retreat. Many come to Tenerife to visit its beauty, but here, you are engrossed in it with every view. You really feel you have the whole island to yourself. Its privacy and quiteness are worlds away from tourist hot spots. The house itself is thoughtfully designed and crafted with a mix of traditional culture with modern appliances including TV/Wifi/washing machine. We have enjoyed utilising the very well apointed kitchen to dine at the house, relaxing after a days exploration. Central heating accompanied by a log fire has kept us warm throughout and the sun warmed pool a great added feature. There was no need to go on an organised stargaze at the peaks as we relaxed by the pool watching the clear night sky twinkle into the late hours. Our host was very friendly and helpful. Meeting us at a designated place to guide us on the exciting route to the house and providing clear instructions on its running for our visit. We have visited the Island many times before and have never encountered such perfection, so much so that it was a chore to leave each day. La Perla Negra has ensured our honeymoon is unforgettable and we hope to visit in the future.
The sight of this wonderful finca brought tears to my eyes. I've traveled extensively, but this has never happened to me before. The owner is a truly heartfelt person, and I doubt you'll find a more amazing view on the island from a quiet, secluded, and vast private property than this. Especially for the price. Everything was also very well-maintained and clean. We were thrilled and will definitely return!
