Step inside a historic Umbrian olive mill and immerse yourself in a rich blend of culinary excellence and centuries-old tradition. Located near the ancient Templar Abbey of San Bevignate in Perugia, this mill has been producing high-quality olive oil since the 1300s and stands today as both a working facility and a “Museum of Olive Oil.” Guided by an expert host, you will explore the craft of olive oil making, preserved and passed down through the Trampolini family since 1785. Your experience begins with a refined olive oil tasting, featuring a wide selection of single-origin cultivars such as Leccino, Frantoio, Dolce Agogia, Moraiolo, Peranzana, and Nocellara. You will also sample expertly crafted blends, organic varieties, and an exciting assortment of flavored and spiced olive oils, each offering unique aromas and tasting notes.
The tasting is paired with a delicious spread of local specialties. Enjoy crostini topped with black and green olive pâtés, truffle-infused sauces, and preserves, alongside a curated charcuterie board of regional cured meats and cheeses. After the tasting, discover the mill’s exceptional collection of historical artifacts, including a 13th-century Assisi stone press, early 20th-century centrifugal machines, and beautifully preserved terracotta jars. This immersive journey offers an unforgettable blend of culture, history, and gourmet flavors, making it a must-experience for food lovers and history enthusiasts alike.

Alessandro had a real passion for the business And put it over well. The olive oils and food provided for the tasting were delicious. The one thing we had trouble with was parking- we didn’t like to turn in with our campervan as the yard looked very crowded- harvest starts next week and all were getting ready. But it was ok as there is a big parking area further down the hill, so we just had to walk back up.

The hosts are amazing. The olive oil is exceptional. The whole experience was interesting and enriching.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Umbria..we had to rearrange some plans we had due to adverse weather and found this on Google..managed to book an olive oil/wine tasting same day via whatsapp..owner was very responsive from the start but the experience itself far exceeded our expectations...not only do you get an immersive explanation from the owner himself with regards to the olive oil making process, but you get to taste a numbrer of different olive oils, pastes, cured meat selection, wines and chocolates..in a really nice and friendly setting. Truly recommended, especially if you're in the area. Will definitely visit again if we get the opportunity!

I really liked the tour and the explanations about the olive oil making process. I actually learned a lot. Very friendly owners. The tasting was great, too. I can totally recommend this when you’re in Perugia.

Alessandro provided a fantastic tour of his olive oil mill. We learned so much about producing olive oil. It was so interesting Alessandro provided an afternoon tasting of the best olive oil and balsamic vinegar we have ever had. Thank you for welcoming us into your olive oil mill.

We found this family run olive oil producer via google maps, quick and easy contact via mail/whatsapp. Booked at same day as visit. Luca was a perfect host and explained the practice of olive oil making via a video. The tasting itself was very good. We tasted all the different types (4) of extra virgin olive oil, their white/red wine, different bruschetta with their own salsa (tartufo/pate negra) a very good tasting of local meats and their dark chocolate with EVOO. Super prize/quality ratio. Highly recommended!

The best olive oil tasting I have ever experienced. Not only we tasted all kinds of oil they produce, I would like to appreciate aslo the approach of the owner, who explained everything, pour us their local wine, played a good old jazz and blues music and let us enjoy the environment. The unforgettable experience that we are taking with us and that will always be reminded when we taste their oil with a piece of bread.

We went to this place to buy some olive oil for our friends. The owners directly invited us to taste their different oils and they did a tour through their production. The different flavours of the oil are delicious, the owners are very friendly and told us many details about the process of producing the oil out of olives. Thank you very much Mrs and Mr Berti. This is our highlight of Umbria.

We had a wonderful time at Frantoio Berti. Luca was very kind and told us all about making olive oil. The tasting was very delicious and well taken care of. Gluten free was no problem and taken very seriously. We went home, happy after a lovely afternoon and with a bag full of nice olive oil and wine!
