This was our first time taking the free walking tour in Old San Juan, and we were truly impressed by its quality. The tour lasts about an hour and a half, and our guide, Juan, was incredibly knowledgeable about Puerto Rico’s history. He was also very courteous, always waiting for the entire group to arrive before sharing the next part of the story. On top of that, he had a great sense of humor—at one point, he even pretended to sing as if he were performing at a Bad Bunny concert. You could really feel his love and passion for the history of Puerto Rico. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about this beautiful island. Supporting tours like this is also a meaningful way to give back to the locals who share their culture so generously.

National Historic Site. Absolutely stunning. Great views of the ocean/port. Old building structures. Hotels and restaurants all in walking distance. Great place for tourists. Clean. Residents here are super friendly. Feels safe here. Great place to get the feel and visual history. Security is noticeably here so great place to bring your kids. FYI lots of moving traffic here.

We enjoyed our free walking tour with Juan! He was fantastic, gave honest and important discussions about the history of PR and current issues, and kept us in the shade :) He also shared lots of local recommendations which were so helpful to us during our stay!! This tour is a great way to get your feet wet on arrival to beautiful OSJ, PR.

Must book online before arrival. Close to the cruise ship port meeting place. Nice walk through town, though I would have liked to return to the original meeting place instead. Not suitable for wheelchairs or baby strollers as the road is uneven bricks throughout the city. When it's very hot, take a bottle of water. No food stops but lots of recommendations in where to get local food.
