Gary

This was a great experience; well worth the time and cost. We had two very talented musicians who played traditional music for our group, and explained the instruments used and shared their extensive knowledge about traditional Irish music. We had Brenda and Harry as our guides/musicians, and they were entertaining, warm, and funny.
Robin

Such a fabulous experience! Learned alot about trad music and instruments used - fiddle, concertina, whistle and bodrahn. Went to 2 pubs having a drink at each! We listened and and sang along for several songs. I’d go again!!

This was by far my favorite activity to see in Dublin. Very entertaining musicians and talented. It's a must see when in Dublin in my opinion.
Danielle

It was so much fun and interactive. It was entertaining and all about traditional Irish music so what made it particularly interesting was the history, the instruments, and the little stories told before the songs were sung. I love the acoustic aspect and learning lyrics from choruses to sing together! The pubs where we went were really nice with a friendly staff and good food! I would go again because it was lovely and entertaining. At the end they ask if people want to sing from their country and I volunteered and got to sing with the band!

Wesley took us on a very personalised journey back in time on the Pilgrims and Pirates Historical Pub tour. He is a wonderful story teller and a walking and talking encyclopaedia - full of history, twisting stories and humorous facts and tales that kept the listener fully engaged from start to finish. He is a very talented and interesting guide and simply a great guy to hang out with. We highly encourage everyone to book with The Great Weekender and join Wesley on an adventure!
Jeanne

An absolute highlight of my time in Dublin. Music, humor, storytelling and most of all totally authentic. If you want an evening listening and learning about Irish music, traditions and where to go to find more of the same, then definitely do this.

Our tour guy was excellent. He knew many stories and lots of history of the area. I would have liked more pirate stories though. Great way to spend a warm, sunny afternoon.
Janet

Wesley was very knowledgeable about the places we visited and was keen to answer any questions would recommend.
