Recommend stopping by before or after the Frida Kahlo museum. Nice to see markets and recommend buying souvenirs as it’s much cheaper than other places. It’s def a experience

Loved the vibrant atmosphere of this market! So much fresh, colourful food everywhere. We had an amazing - and super affordable - breakfast at one of the small stalls. Everything was fresh and full of flavour. Beyond that, you’ll find tons of local spices, produce, and little handcrafted treasures. Definitely worth a visit!

No visit to Coyoacan is complete without going to this Mercado. They have many choices in raw food vendors, but also the numerous prepared food spots makes it a great place to eat as well. Trinidad Ritual de Sabores is my absolute favorite. The best and most tender meats and also vegetarian options around.

Mercado Coyoacán is one of those places where you can spend hours without realizing how much time has passed. The food selection alone is worth the visit—rows of stalls offering everything from freshly cut pork and chicharrón to classic Mexican dishes that feel both comforting and celebratory. You’ll find tacos, tamales, fresh juices, seafood, and plenty of regional specialties, all cooked right in front of you with an energy that fills the market. It’s the kind of spot where you can come hungry and still feel like you only scratched the surface. Beyond the food, the stalls are a fascinating mix of Mexico City life. Handmade leather goods sit alongside vendors selling colorful crafts, home items, and even knockoff clothing that’s surprisingly stylish. Mixed in are truly original Mexican products you won’t find in tourist shops—things that carry the charm and authenticity of local makers. The market itself has a lived-in, bustling character that makes browsing as fun as eating. Its location near the Frida Kahlo Museum makes it a natural stop, whether you’re heading there before or after your visit. Mercado Coyoacán offers the perfect mix of food, shopping, and local culture. For anyone visiting Coyoacán, this is a five-star stop.

This is a mid-sized market with a variety of stalls ranging from fruit to tacos to souvenirs. It is not the most extensive in CDMX nor the best but it is in a great location. If you are a tourist and not looking to buy fresh produce you can grab some delicious tacos or take a walk around. Don't go out of your way to visit this market but if you are close it is worth a stop.

Our guide Diego not only introduced us to Mexican food culture, but also gave us information about Coyoacan. We really liked the tour because we tried things that we might not have tried otherwise (e.g. mole with shrimp or cactus). We can only warmly recommend the tour to anyone who wants to eat their way through Coyoacan. It is also important to come with an empty stomach, because there was a lot of food.
