So this tour is not just a mouthwatering experience, but a perfect overview of Ortigia and its ancient myths.
Did this tour with Tonia in September and it was great. There was just the two of us on the tour so felt very personal. Tonia was so friendly and we got to experience a variety of foods and also learn about the history of Ortigia which was great. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining and will take some great photos of you too. Definitely come hungry.
What a truly wonderful time we had with Tonia today (I’ve never written “truly wonderful” but just wonderful didn’t seem enough). She is So knowledgeable about both food and history - with some entertaining stories, and you won’t find a nicer person. At the various stops we made the restaurant owners had big smiles when they spotted her. She and her small tour gave us a few hours of smiles.
My wife and I had a great time on our vegan food tour with Tonia. It was such a surprise for us to see this was available and it turned out Ortigia was much more vegan friendly than we would ever have expected based on other experiences in Italy. We booked the Vegan Street Food Tour one day and the Vegan Wine & Chocolate Pairing the day after. Both were great experiences where we were able to eat delicious local vegan food while learning some of the history of the area. Tonia was friendly, lively and helpful as a host and both tours lasted the perfect length. Strongly recommend checking this out if you are in Ortigia and want to try some great vegan food.
We did a vegan food tour with Tonia today and had such a wonderful experience! Although we are not strictly vegan ourselves, my boyfriend has an allergy which made this the perfect choice – and it truly exceeded our expectations. Tonia took us to some amazing spots in Ortigia where we not only enjoyed delicious food but also learned a lot about the local cuisine and culture. Her passion and knowledge made the tour extra special, and she made sure everything was perfectly taken care of. We loved the flavors, the stories, and the warm atmosphere. Highly recommended – even if you’re not vegan!
