Step aboard the luxurious 1920s-style yacht Manhattan or Manhattan II for a captivating winter adventure through New York Harbor. This elegant cruise offers a rare glimpse into the region’s fascinating natural and historical landscapes as you journey from Chelsea Piers toward the lesser-known Hoffman and Swinburne Islands, just beyond the Verrazzano Bridge. Nestled within the harbor’s calm winter waters, these islands serve as a seasonal haven for seals and migrating birds. Led by expert Urban Naturalists Gabriel Willow or Russell Jacobs, you’ll learn about the harbor’s wildlife, maritime heritage, and the remarkable transformation of these once-quarantined islands into thriving natural habitats.
As you relax in the cozy, enclosed salon of the yacht, take in sweeping views of the city skyline and the tranquil beauty of New York’s winter seascape. Though seal sightings cannot be guaranteed, they are frequent visitors to these waters during the colder months. Listen to fascinating stories of ecology, conservation, and history while enjoying the comfort and elegance of your surroundings. This 2.75-hour cruise perfectly blends exploration, education, and relaxation — a unique opportunity to experience the hidden wildlife and forgotten history of New York Harbor in style.

Absolute five star experience. We managed to make the last sailing of 2025 (which was actually pushed back two days due to weather and MANY thanks to the team for having us out on a beautiful Sunday afternoon to see Noss). The couple that run this operation are knowledgeable, fun, and informative. We had such a special time and I would do it again any time I am back on Shetland. We simply won't forget the time we spent together. A good winter to all & many thanks!

Absolutely amazing experience. My children are still talking about driving the boat and showing off their certificates to anyone who will look at them. Marie and Brian were warm and friendly welcoming everyone on board, very knowledgeable in the local wildlife and points of interest along the route. Family members were blown away by the whole experience. Refreshments are provided for everyone. Gift bags provided for the children, my children absolutely loved these and have asked when can we go back to Shetland so they can go on the seabirds tour again. Definitely worth the booking

Absolutely amazing tour, so informative and knowledgeable. The boat is extremely stable and comfy, heaps of seating inside and out, binoculars to borrow too. You get right up close to the birds and cliffs, even inside a cave at one point. The stop for tea and coffee with biscuits is brilliant in Noss Sound. Well worth it for anyone visiting or locals alike.

Just thoroughly enjoyed a marvelous 2.5 hour seabirds and seals boat tour with guide Marie and skipper Brian. Marie was friendly, kind, and thoughtful, as she provided wonderful commentary on the birds and seals that we encountered, as well as interesting background information on the unique geology and geography of the Shetland Islands we toured through [Bressay and Noss]. Marie helped the group with the best photo opportunities, which was much appreciated. Brian skillfully captained the tour boat for a safe, fun, and comfortable journey. He brought our boat to close in encounters with masses of birds. Tea/coffee and biscuits were provided during a rest stop, which was a nice touch. For a first-time visitor to the remarkable Shetlands, this was exactly what I needed. My expectations were exceeded. Highly recommended!

The boat tour was lovely. Marie put a lot of thought into the tour, the headsets were very helpful to hear her when she told us about the wildlife and history while we were out at sea. The birds were fabulous and Brain was able to drive the boat quite close to the coast so we had a great view. The cup of tea and biscuits Marie provided while we took a break in a calm inlet was a lovely addition (they even had gluten free biscuits) ☺️
