Embark on an unforgettable adventure in Aberdare National Park, a stunningly beautiful protected area nestled within the Aberdare Mountain Range in central Kenya. Renowned for its rich biodiversity, the park offers a chance to witness magnificent herds of elephants, buffaloes, and the elusive leopards within its dense forests. The Aberdare Salient to the east of the park adds to the park’s natural beauty, with its lush greenery and varied terrain, making it a perfect setting for wildlife exploration.

Your stay includes a combination of two exceptional accommodations, starting with Aberdare Country Club, set within a private conservancy that allows you to immerse yourself in nature while enjoying luxurious comfort. The Country Club offers a serene atmosphere with plenty of opportunities for wildlife viewing and relaxation. The highlight of your stay is a visit to the famous Ark Lodge, where you can enjoy a unique experience of watching animals from the lodge’s viewing deck as they gather around the watering hole. This is an ideal spot to witness the wildlife in their natural habitat, creating lasting memories.

During your safari, indulge in exciting activities such as horseback riding through the park to search for game, allowing you to experience the landscape from a different perspective. Alternatively, unwind at The Ark’s viewing deck, where you can watch a variety of animals, including elephants, buffaloes, and other wildlife, as they come to the watering hole.

A beautiful park where you may or not come across wildlife. But if you like animals is best to sleep at The Ark Lodge so you can see them from very close as there's a waterhole in front of the lodge where elephants, bushbucks, hyenas and other animals come to drink. If you like mountain atmosphere with chilly weather and beautiful altitude rainforest that's your place! Many hikes available especially in the highlands area, the Dragons Teeth hike is definitely a must! Very scenic!

Entry fee for three adults and one vehicle came up to be $271 USD for non-residents (while residents of pay 1/4th of that price). Animals are there but not in abundance. We did see a hyena, a few dinkas, a warthog, random gazelle (and impalas?), etc. never saw an elephant but their droppings are plentiful. We camped near the fishing lodge and was about 50 F at night so bundle up (Oct 18-19). Scenes are good, pretty stunning. Checking out took us 30 minutes bc we bought our vehicle registration on E citizen and the tickets at the gate bc there was a glitch. Lots of confusion when checking in and out. Overall a great place to check out as an American. Ps. We drove from Nairobi to Lake Naivasha before hitting up the park. The police pulled us over and shook us down for 10,000 KES. We should have negotiated for 500-1000 KES so be careful driving outside of Nairobi— especially in one spot.

Waited at the gate (Treetops Gate) for too long, thanks to beaurocracy from the park rangers. Sad that foreigners who came after us, were allowed in faster than citizens. Best time to go is early morning if you want to see the animals. Only saw Buffalo, Warthogs and Elephants which constantly avoid being seen. Also, Northern part of the park is only accessible by appointment. Not impressed at all.

I hiked to the highest point at Oldonyo Lesatima peak and it was absolutely breathtaking. The views at the summit were stunning. The hike to the summit was moderately challenging but the incredible scenery made it worthwhile. This hike is a must do for people looking for a challenge, diverse scenic views and landscapes.

I am always amazed by the beauty of my beautiful country 😍 I love waterfalling but Aberdare National Park has my heart on this Beautiful waterfalls and serene nature 😎😎 My second time there and I was amazed how the vegetation has grown and a large number of elephants have been migrating there so chances seeing a herd of them is very high Loved the experience 😁😁 definitely visiting again
