The Deer Moat Tunnel (by architect Josef Pleskot) is an 84 m steel walkway linking the upper and lower parts of Prague Castle’s Deer Moat. Opened in 2002, it’s a quiet, curved passage blending modern design with medieval surroundings—short, atmospheric, and worth a quick walk-through when the moat is open.

We have been to Prague many times but have not discovered this lovely park until now. A hidden gem but one which is hiding in plain sight. Get off the tram one stop before the castle and walk up through, you won't regret it. Particularly beautiful in its autumn robes.

Deer Moat – A Quiet Escape by Prague Castle The Deer Moat (Jelení příkop) is a peaceful green ravine just below Prague Castle perfect for a quiet break from the crowds. Once used for deer and even bears, it’s now a scenic walking path with trees, a stream, and great views of the castle above. Highlights include a modern tunnel, old fortifications, and a mix of nature and history. It's open seasonally from 10 am with limited facilities so bring water and good shoes. There is a toilet half way. The paths are very good and only a few steps A hidden gem for a 30–60 min relaxing stroll.

A nice path to access the park,at the bottom of the castle. You can either go from the top,it will lead you to the route to the Castle. If you go from the bottom to top,it will be a bit climb.Avoid to wear heels and the path is very narrow.Only able to let 1 person to go through.
