My family and I just returned a 7 day cruise ,through Carnival, and Monkeyland was the best experiences we’ve had in our time of cruising. The excursion we booked included a tour of the city of Puerto Plata along with Monkeyland. Our guide, Junior, was amazing and made the whole experience wonderful. I highly recommend this place!
This was the only excursion we booked as a family. So glad we did. Bus ride was long and our tour guide was very good. Lots of info on the way to Monkey Land. Made sure we got to the right spot and got us back on the bus. The monkeys were a lot of fun. We all got food to feed them. They ate and on to the next bowl. There were lots of monkeys and they had lots of fun jumping from arm ,heads hands. The monkey guide explained a few safety and things not to do. He watched to make sure u didn’t step on them. They move around a lot as long as food was available. The family really liked them and made them laugh. Beautiful location. If you’re thinking about going on an excursion this would be a good choice. Fills up fast. I can c why.
I love this place. Not only do you get to hold a squirrel monkey but you also get a history lesson about the culture. Homemade coffee which was amazing. Please try to buy the local coffee from this place and support the monkey and local people. Parrots are also there. Photos included.
This is an excellent half-day excursion! Our tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable; you can tell they love their jobs. Thank you to Rafael, Mario Silverio, and Peter our driver; you were excellent and made the trip unforgettable! We began the tour by exploring the house and then getting to enjoy fresh coffee, liquid chocolate, and Mama Juana. Then you walk into the monkey enclosure, and already the monkeys will jump off of you as they get from one side to the other. You can tell the animals are treated very well and are cared for. We each got to spend a lot of time with the group of monkeys as the trainers led them around the circle with food, even putting food on our hats and in shirt pockets for the monkeys to find. A baby monkey tried to nibble on my fingernail, and his mother quickly came and picked him up; such a good monkey mommy! Don't miss Monkeyland! It's a once in a lifetime experience!!
Monkeyland is a great experience for anyone. The monkeys are inside of an open air enclosure with covered seating. The interaction is great as staff will help you take pictures and provide food for you to feed the monkeys. Berny and Wilfredo are very helpful.
