Experience the best of Umbrian craftsmanship and winemaking on this immersive full-day private tour through Deruta and Torgiano, where artistry, tradition, and taste come together. Begin in Deruta, the historic heart of Italian majolica ceramics, with a visit to the Museo Regionale della Ceramica, housed in a 13th-century Franciscan convent and showcasing over 700 years of ceramic art. Participate in a hands-on workshop, shaping a small object or decorating a tile with traditional Deruta patterns, and connect directly with this enduring craft. After a coffee break or stroll through the town, travel through the scenic Umbrian countryside to Torgiano, visiting the acclaimed Museo del Vino, where the history, tools, and cultural significance of wine are revealed. Enjoy lunch at a local osteria featuring regional specialties, then continue to a prestigious wine estate just outside Torgiano, touring the vineyards, production facilities, and cellars while learning about the philosophy, techniques, and terroir that shape their wines. Conclude with a guided tasting of selected labels, from mineral-rich whites to elegant reds, accompanied by small bites that enhance the flavors. Throughout the day, a licensed guide will connect the historical, artistic, and human threads of the experience, creating a journey that engages the senses, deepens understanding, and leaves you with lasting memories, skills, and stories from the heart of Umbria.

Deruta is an incredible town for ceramics, but this shop was a letdown. Prices were inflated and the “50% off” signs were misleading — it felt like everything had just been marked up. There wasn’t much atmosphere either, just a lone salesperson and no artists working. You’ll have a much more inviting experience in the City Center, where smaller shops offer better prices, friendlier service, and you can actually watch the artisans paint.

We were really looking forward to picking out an 8-piece set in Deruta, but the experience didn’t quite live up to our hopes. The shops are full of beautiful pieces—some of the lamps and ceiling lights were especially impressive—but the vibe felt a little off. Not much help or service, and most places had pretty similar (and pricey) inventory. Still fun to visit, just not the shopping success we were hoping for.

They have a very good range of products and I like their decorative style. Prices are reasonable but so are the staff and if you're buying in quantity it can be worth a little haggle. They are happy to make commission pieces or sets of tableware. They are easy to find and there is a nice cafe next door. They are a recommended supplier but you should always explore the ceramics strip in the town because styles vary enormously from super traditional to contemporary.
