We did the horseback tour today with Frank and it was a great experience. A few things that might help future guests: • Be minimalistic—don’t bring anything extra. • The drive to Montserrat takes about an hour on winding roads (if you get dizzy, ask to sit in the front). • You’ll have about an hour at Montserrat. We didn’t see the Black Madonna, and there was only around 15 minutes for food/restroom before the horseback ride. • From Montserrat, it’s a 30-minute drive to the stables. They have restrooms there. Wear pants, no backpacks, and stay comfortable. • The horseback ride lasts about 1.5 hours. They’ll give you basic instructions, and the guides are very professional. Even though we were nervous first-timers, the horses are well-trained and follow each other, so it felt safe. • It’s an amazing experience, but you do need to be able to get on and manage a horse, so it may be challenging for the elderly. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a unique and safe adventure!

Roger was a great guide and knows a lot about Montserrat and the surrounding areas. Laura was very helpful with the horses. What a beautiful ride!
Hana

The day trip was amazing. The horseback riding was a small group of 4 people and that made it such a fun relaxing experience. The Monastery was stunning and Catya was an excellent tour guide. She took the time to answer all our questions and we had a great time.
Jeff

Very excellent tour. Would have liked a bit more time at the Monastery, but understand the time was shorted because of the unusual bike race there and need to transport via tram rather than car. Thank you so much, Jeff and Rita

Han and Mar were great! Unfortunately weather wasn’t in our favor but still had an awesome time. The horseback riding was my absolute favorite. Everyone at the ranch was very kind.

I am originally from Barcelona and this was one of the funnest activities I've done so far of this kind. it was a sweet horse ride, very casual and safe. The horses are very well behaved and the guides don't leave your side. (unless the lead rider knows how to control the horse, in which case they can help others in the middle of the line) They know that if they control the lead horse and the back that the horses will follow each other without issues. (and I have intermediate experience with horses and helped run a riding program in the USA) I am very safety conscious. I think a tip to help this barn support it's horsed with hay prices that are through the roof should be considered, optimal of course. The horses are not spooky, we had bikes pass and cars close by. it's beautiful in the spring especially. The time allotted for Montserrat is too short. I recommend adding an hour even if you raise the price. The bus/van accomodations were very well planned. This trip of the nature lovers.

Uni took us to Montserrat for a visit to the monastery which was very interesting and offers stunning views. We subsequently went horse riding nearby which was fun, the horses were good and well kept and again the views incredible. Uni is a great guy and did well in the company of us ladies for my hen weekend. A shout out for his great photography skills of us horse riding and for letting my friend DJ during the car journey from town and back!

We absolutely loved our entire day visiting Montserrat monastery, then riding the funicular up above the monastery and taking an extensive hike through the beautiful mountainous landscapes and ruins of ancient hermit dwellings. Fermi, a long-time guide, teacher and rock climber, was our guide for the day and he was wonderful. He led us expertly through the trails, sharing history and legends from the area, and took good care of the group from the minute he picked us up in Barcelona to the minute we said goodbye. And we really enjoyed getting to know the six other people in the group. Even the weather added to the excitement of the day - starting rainy and foggy, then teasing us with occasional sun, then full-on sun and clear skies to see distant views. My 13 year old daughter and I feel very lucky to have been part of this tour today and would recommend it to everyone!

Had a great hike, with Uni, he did it with CARE. He was very Courteous - he provided a neat Adventure, he was very Responsible, making sure everyone was safe (shoes, poles, water etc.) the tour was just Excellent overall (prompt, caring, safe, informative, helpful). I could even add more letters to this (he CARED), Dedicated to ensuring everyone had a great time and was very respectful of our time.
