Begin your Portland city tour with a convenient pickup in central downtown at Director Park, traveling in a comfortable van while exploring the north-south dividing line of the city. Along the way, you’ll pass iconic sites such as Powell’s Books, admire local bike art, and take in historic buildings that shape Portland’s character. The tour ascends to King’s Heights, where you’ll stroll the grounds of a mansion once reserved for the city’s elite, enjoying panoramic views and learning the context that helps define Portland. From there, the journey continues to SW Portland’s Arlington Heights neighborhood on the edge of Washington Park, where you’ll wander a hidden garden and visit the International Rose Test Garden, immersing yourself in the story of the city’s rose culture. When roses are not in season, an alternative stop at the Hoyt Arboretum may be included.
The tour then returns to the city center, driving through Portland’s cultural district, the historic heart where merchants and lumber barons once lived, now home to institutions like the Portland Art Museum, Oregon Historical Society, and Portland State University. A stop at a favorite doughnut shop offers a taste of Portland’s culinary heritage. The route continues along the South Waterfront and waterfront park, highlighting the engineering marvel of the Aerial Tram and the iconic Tilikum Crossing bridge. Depending on time and interest, the tour may include a visit to Ladd’s Addition, a charming neighborhood with some of the city’s best coffee, food carts, restaurants, and breweries. During late spring and summer, additional stops for ice cream or a local brewery may also be offered to complete this immersive exploration of Portland.

Eric was a great guide. Took us on an amazing tour of Portland. He made it fun and interesting. I especially loved the photo opportunities and learning about Portland’s very vibrant food scene. Recommended.

Had a great time touring Portland with Eric! He is a very passionate Portlander, whose love for the city and its history is very apparent. He also has great food and drink recommendations. It was a fun, comfortable afternoon! Thank you, Eric.

My Portland OR tour with Peak Tours was a good value, very interesting and had opportunities to get out of the van for closer exploration. Our driver, Damon, knows the city of today and the history and developments that influenced its growth. His love of Portland really made the city come to life!

Our tour guide was Eric. He was phenomenal. We received 3 hours of non-stop information about everything Portland, as well as excellent highlights of each stop. The visits to the falls were breathtaking. Thanks!

Eric was the best tour guide I have ever experienced, no exaggeration. He knew the detailed history of this unique city, the little known yet fascinating back story to so much about Portland. He also had the best restaurant recommendations, showed us the best neighborhoods outside of downtown so that you really got to know this charming, friendly city. Eric made Portland yours for three hours in a very comfortable shuttle. It’s not a big bus so book early to secure a seat. And take the tour with Eric. His love of Portland is contagious. You’ll want to come back.
