Go near low tide so you can get to the tide pools! So cool to see all the sea life. Definitely want to come back (in April) to see Puffins! There are a few parking spaces next to the stairs that go straight out. Be careful not to obstruct driveways and pay attention to parking signs.
Jim is a really good guide and he let us enjoy the entire tour, since the beginning. he tells lot of stories and we really enjoy all. we've been so lucky because the weather was sunny, no windy and really warm. actually i enjoy all single moment of the day.
Haystack Rock has been on my bucket list forever (Goonies girl for life), and finally getting to see it in person was unreal. Pictures do not do this thing justice. It’s massive, it’s beautiful, and it honestly feels a little bit magical standing there in front of it. We stayed right across the street and lucked out with perfect weather- no fog, no haze, just a clear shot of the rock sitting out there like it’s waiting for you. We were able to ride our one wheels up and down the beach... I must’ve taken a hundred photos, but the moment still hits harder than anything on a screen. If you grew up watching the Goonies, this one hits different. One of those rare places that feels familiar and brand new at the same time. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience and easily one of my favorite stops ever. Bucket list item officially checked and I already want to go back and am trying to bribe everyone I know all the time to take the trek with me again.
