Begin your day in Roatan with a fun-filled wildlife adventure that starts at the Manawakie Monkeys and Sloth Hang-Out. This unique sanctuary provides the perfect opportunity to interact with rescued animals, including playful monkeys and gentle three-toed sloths. As you explore the sanctuary, you can hug and hold the sloths, observe the white-faced Capuchin monkeys, and spot spider monkeys in their natural habitats. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for native species that are often difficult to see in the dense Honduran jungle, adding an extra layer of excitement and discovery to your day.
After your visit to the sanctuary, continue your adventure with a trip to a fascinating iguana farm located near the beach. Here, hundreds of iguanas roam freely in a protected environment, some growing up to four feet in length. Guests can enjoy one-on-one interactions with these exotic reptiles, feeding and touching them under the guidance of the staff. The excursion also includes a visit to the macaw market, where colorful birds and other wildlife add to the vibrant atmosphere of Roatan. We had an incredible experience at the ecological park! We got to pet a sloth, feed monkeys, and even hold parrots—it was unforgettable. Our guide and driver, Kevin, was absolutely amazing. He was so informative, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly. He even took us to a beautiful beach after the park visit, which was the perfect way to end the day. The transportation was seamless—they picked us up right from the port and dropped us back off on time without any stress. Highly recommend this tour, especially with Kevin!

We had Vicky today and it was absolutely amazing. Out of many excursions this one was by far the best. She was very knowledgeable of the island and culture. We had package #2. She was a great driver.

We came here as part of a tour excursion in the pouring rain, however that did not affect our visit at all. The staff were great, they assisted us with umbrellas and assisted those with mobility issues. Gave clear directions. Informative about the animals. Watch your pockets because some of the monkeys will pick pocket you. The monkeys were going on everyone and jumping from person to person. It was great. Gave us lots of info about sloths too and I got to hold one as well. There is a bathroom on site.

Up a sketchy little path you find this little gem. The guided tour was both informative and engaging, providing fascinating insights into the local flora and fauna. The highlight of the visit was definitely the opportunity to interact with the animals. There are opportunities to interact with monkeys, sloths, reptiles, and birds. The staff were knowledgeable and passionate about conservation. Be sure to tip them. They offer photo opportunities to get the whole group in.

Such a great little park! Definitely a very curated experience for tourists. But you do get to hold a sloth, toucan, and let monkeys crawl all over you, which you are not likely to have a chance to do at a zoo. The 35 minutes most tour companies spend here is quite adequate, though it doesn’t seem like enough at first.
