A tour of Khiva’s historic treasures begins at Itchan Kala, the UNESCO-listed walled city and heart of Khiva’s cultural heritage, before moving to the 17th-century Kunya Ark, once the royal residence and administrative center of the Khans. The journey continues with a visit to the Sayeed Alauddin Mausoleum, honoring a 14th-century Sufi saint, followed by a traditional Uzbek lunch of plov, shashlik, and manti. The afternoon highlights include the Oq Masjid Mosque, also known as the White Mosque, and the centuries-old Juma Mosque, famous for its forest of intricately carved wooden columns. Visitors then explore the Allakulikhan Madrasah, a 19th-century hub of Islamic learning, and the Tosh-Khovli Palace, or “Stone House,” with its grand courtyards and ornate halls. The Pakhlavan Makhmud Mausoleum, dedicated to Khiva’s revered poet, saint, and wrestler, offers a spiritual pause before concluding at the striking Minaret of Islom Khoja, one of Khiva’s tallest and most iconic landmarks, symbolizing the city’s enduring architectural and cultural brilliance.

Absolutely amazing tour. I did the ship cemetery tour and it was fantastic. The history around the Aral Sea was interesting, including a trip to a necropolis, fortress and the largest soviet art gallery it was an epic day. I really enjoyed my day. Great driver and great car. Would recommend 100% From Australia

Our experience with Khiva Tour and their guide Mahfirat was exceptional. Unfortunately our train to Khiva was delayed and our flight advanced so we had limited time. However, Mahfirat planned our short trip so well and managed to show us all the major sites and explained in great detail about their histories and iconographies. She is an architect and that expertise came out in her explanations. The taxi which picked us up at the station and dropped us to the airport was also very helpful and a good driver. The whole experience was reasonably priced and easy to arrange with all commitments kept. The owner is very responsive to questions and changes in schedule.

We took 2 days tour from Khiva to Aral Sea and there was no problem to leave us on time at Nukus airport the second day, as we have our flight to Tashkent from there. Our first driver, Tilla, was very nice and funny, the route passed quite fast. Then we changed the car and from Munyak we went to Aral Sea with Murat. He was very good driver and always willing to help. The yurts were very basic, but we didn't expect much. The yurts were heated and food was good, they also approve vegetarian option.

Yurta night is a must-have experience! Everything well organised, driver Murat masters local traffic like a pro! Highly recommended!

We wanted to do the Aral Sea tour over 3 days, not 2, as we wanted to take a bit more time to take it all in. Rakhmatulla at Khiva Tour listened to our request and came up with a 3 day tour to the Aral Sea, with 1 night in a Yurt on the shore of the Aral and another night in Nukus This tour was the highlight of our 10 days in Uzbekistan so far. The scenery was incredible, the archaeological sites were amazing, and our drivers were wonderful. The Aral Sea story is really interesting but very sad, too. We had one driver who took us from Khiva to Moynaq, and then we changed to another driver with a Toyota 4x4 who took us to the Aral Sea and back to Moynaq First night, we stayed in the Aral Sea Plaza. You’ll probably stay in better hotels in Uzbekistan, but remember you are literally in the middle of a desert. The beds in the Yurt were comfy, and the food was good. We spent our 2nd night in Nukus ( The Ideal Hotel which 10/10) We didn't visit the Savitsky Museum because it was closed. No problem, we're mainly 'outdoor types' anyway.... I would really recommend this trip and Khiva Tour, but you should know that there is a 4 hour off-road journey from Moynaq to the Aral Sea on very rough roads. You'll need a bit of stamina, a good driver and a good car. I would also learn a little about the archaeological sites you'll visit in advance. We loved this trip!
