Once in a lifetime experience and our guide, Maggie, was the absolute best!! We booked the Volcanoes National Park and Waterfall tour while in Hilo. Our first stop was Richardson Park to see the Black Sand beach and were lucky enough to see some of the sea turtles on the rocks. Drove by the Japanese Garden and to the Mac Nut Farm for lunch. Maggie had excellent information at each stop as well as being able to answer our many questions and be our family photographer!! Rainbow Falls was amazing but the true star of the tour was Kilauea Crater lookout since it was still steaming from activity the week before. The Lava Tube walk through was indescribable. Something you won’t see in a lifetime! Excellent tour and the best guide …well worth cost of the tour.
We’ve been all over the world and I gotta say Manta snorkel will be one of the coolest experience ever. We were overwhelmed by the number of companies out there but we’re so so glad we went with Cap’ Kris and C Big Island. The ride to the site on the zodiac itself zipping up the Kona coastline at dusk was so much fun (don’t eat a big dinner before you go). The smaller group size meant everyone got to spend plenty of time in the water without it being too crowded, we had less experienced swimmers in our group and Kris/Alex took their time to make them comfortable. Wetsuits were provided which made an huge difference too. Overall I can’t recommend this company enough and we’re already looking forward to other excursions with Kris. Worth every penny !!!
It was extremely obvious that our tour guide, Maggie, loves the big island and all it has to offer. The volcano is very close to erupting and she made sure that we got to see some lava (preeruption activity). She is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The lunch at the Mac Nut farm was delicious and reasonably priced. So thankful that we did her tour!!!
Maggie is an awesome guide, she gave great insight into island life and the national park and kept the group on schedule without rushing anyone. Highly recommend C Big Island tours and Maggie as a tour guide!Guide! The only enhancement would have been an active eruption! Next time!
Going to Volcanos National Park was an experience of a lifetime! Seen the volcano erupt for episode 32. Shavaun took us to 3 different great vantage points. Got to see, feel and smell this natural beauty. The whole tour and Savaun was the best.
