Madeira Sunrise Hike Unveils Dramatic Peaks and Historic Mountain Trails

A guided sunrise adventure along Madeira’s famous PR1 Stairway to Heaven Trail at Pico do Arieiro is offering hikers one of the island’s most spectacular mountain experiences. Set above the clouds, the route allows visitors to walk at their own pace through dramatic high-altitude landscapes while taking in sweeping panoramic views as dawn breaks over the island.

Located near the Pousada do Pico do Arieiro, the trail offers striking viewpoints across São Roque do Faial and the lush valley of Fajã da Nogueira, a known nesting area for the Manx shearwater.
