Walk to the highest point of the Cliffs of Moher, standing at two hundred and fourteen meters above sea level, where breathtaking views stretch across the Dingle Peninsula and Loop Head to the south, the Aran Islands to the west, and the Twelve Pins and mountains of Connemara to the north on a clear day. From O’Brien’s Tower, take in the stunning vistas of lush green grass, rugged rocky cliffs, and the ever-changing shades of the sea and sky while listening to the powerful waves of the mighty Atlantic Ocean crashing below.
The walk takes approximately three hours, beginning in the charming village of Doolin and following a picturesque gravel path that winds its way along the breathtaking coastline to the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre. Along the way, walkers can enjoy stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, rolling green fields, and dramatic cliff edges, making for a truly memorable experience. The trail itself is an easy and enjoyable hike, suitable for those with a basic level of fitness, though a good head for heights is recommended as portions of the path run close to the cliff’s edge. Covering a total distance of eight kilometers, the journey offers plenty of opportunities to soak in the natural beauty of the region while embracing the fresh sea air and the soothing sounds of waves crashing against the cliffs below. To ensure a seamless experience, a taxi ride back to Doolin village from the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre is included in the ticket price, allowing visitors to relax and reflect on their incredible walk while enjoying a hassle-free return journey.
Please bring suitable walking boots, warm, layered, wind and rainproof gear as weather can be changeable.

We had a wonderful experience on a walking tour of a section of The Burren with Roisin. In setting up the tour she communicated promptly, and in the days just before the tour she communicated about possible wet weather and brought us rainproof pants to wear. When we met her at our arranged meeting site she was full of energy and excitement about showing us The Burren. Along the walk she told us about the ecosystem. As we passed by cows lying in a field she told us about the breed. She told us about many of the wildflowers in bloom, and at a rock field she encouraged us to explore it by ourselves and to look for fossils. Roisin's appreciation and love for the Earth comes through in her comments, and it was clear she loved taking us on the walk. The path was not a main-stream destination and we were pleased not to encounter anyone else. We had a sweet experience with Roisin and highly recommend her as a guide.

We had a wonderful day with Ro and Mo at the Cliffs!!! Booking with her allowed us to skip the crowded visitor center, but still experience the spectacular views from the cliffs. Ro was so knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife, and she deeply respects the land. She took great care for our safety. Her little dog Mo was a delight and a treasure to be with too. It was all in all a day we will never ever forget. Very worth the extra money to be able to have this special private experience.

We have struggled to put into words adequately the experience of hiking the Cliffs with Ro and Moby. World class company, a great days walk, and a locals only experience and view of one of the most breathtaking places on Earth. Roisin is truly a joy to walk and converse with. She adds so much to an already epic experience. We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have made these memories as a family and have no doubt you will as well. Seriously don’t wait to book, this may be the best part of any visit to Ireland.

A Hidden Gem Near the Cliffs! We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon with our hostess Ro, and her cute furry assistant Moby. They were welcoming in Ro's house as if we were visiting family, and Ro shared lots of stories about her life as a guide along the Cliffs as we prepared a delicious Irish stew. Ro and Moby introduced us to their neighbor horse, Dancer, who enjoyed being fed the vegetable scraps, then Ro and Moby took us on a back roads drive along the oceanfront and driving-accessible roads near the cliffs. After a fun driving tour of the area, we returned to their house and enjoyed the Irish stew we had helped prepare--So yummy! Ro gave us great tips to see the Cliffs at sunset, and helpful suggestions to see the Burren during our Midwest Ireland stay. With the hiking trails closed along the cliffs in late 2024 and indefinitely, the afternoon with Ro and Moby is a fun and memorable alternative and a great way to enjoy that beautiful part of Ireland, with great company! Thanks, Ro and Moby!

Ro was an awesome guide. First and foremost, the very hour we met her for the tour, fog rolled right in and we couldn’t see beyond a couple of metres. We waited with Ro at her place but the weather did not cooperate. Ro so nicely agreed to do the tour the next day (which had good weather forecasted) as she happened to be free. And so the skies kept its promise and it was a gorgeous morning when Ro and Moby took us to the cliffs. Walking from Liscannor, there were no crowds and the views were spectacular. Right off a postcard! Ro brought binoculars and showed us the fulmars which were resident along the cliffs. The walk was at a pace at which everyone, including the teen kids, could enjoy. She kept us safe and yet showed us all the fab photo op spots. Ro also brought us to the best ice cream for miles. They also really have the best coffee we had in the whole of our two weeks in Ireland. Their posters do not lie. Thanks to Ro, we missed all the madding crowds and got to enjoy the Cliffs of Moher as best as we could imagine! Book the tour… not to be missed!
