What a great statue! Recommend seeing it from both across the street and from right underneath. Both are great perspectives

Beautiful bronze sculpture in downtown Portland. She embodies the spirit of this great city. Strong and fierce, she guards the entrance to the Portland building and is the embodiment of the people of Portland. The second largest copper statue in the nation, she was crafted by Raymond Kaskey in 1985 and was installed on October 6th, 1985 after being floated up the Willamette river on a barge.

Worth a look. It's a large statue (2nd largest copper statue in the US after the Statue of Liberty) that's posed and positioned in an impressive way. Nothing much to do other than looking and snapping a picture.

My architect friend told me about this building–a revolutionary design at the time, I realized that I have passed it many times but never really looked up. The big square building occupying the entire block is a little hard to appreciate from the ground but the sculpture on 5th Street is quite impressive, larger and more impressive than my imagination, especially when you stand right under it. It feels so imposing.
