Machame Gate – The Starting Point of an Incredible Journey Machame Gate is where our Mount Kilimanjaro trek began, and the excitement was real! The area has a large open space for organizing gear, meeting guides and porters, and handling permits. There was a long queue to enter the park, as many groups were starting their trek that day, but the process was well-managed. It’s the gateway to the scenic Machame Route, and standing there, looking up at the forest ahead, the adventure truly begins. A special place that marks the start of an unforgettable climb!
Great nature, nice walk. Remember you need a local guide, but they can be found at the gate. You need to pay to get in.
It was amazing climbing. google need to fix that Kilimanjaro location. It’s Tanzania period. The hike starts with rain forest with multiple days of hiking to reach at the elevation of 19341.
Entrance to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park and the Machame Route climb route, at 1800m amsl. We'll managed and kept. They have shops here where you can buy any gear you might have forgotten. If you're going on an expedition, the registration takes a while, give yourself about 2 hours, especially during peak season. Also they check weights of all porters bags, make sure to pack within the 16kg limit, otherwise they may ask you to remove some items from your bag- quite strict on this. Anyway, the gate welcomes you to the most beautiful rain forest.
