This was our best hike. Hair raising drive to get there. A short walk but really lovely not many people walk this one.
Very easy hike through a largely settled area. It was very difficult to figure out where to park to get on the trail based on Google's directions. I don't recommend following them. Try to figure out a better starting point.
A very easy hike along the Levada winding through an urban area providing nice views and an opportunity to experience the urban life here. View people's back yards and gardens. A really welcoming and different experience compared to other Levadas.
We started from Cabo Girao and walk part of it untill going down to the Campanario village. Very nice walk with views of the valley fields tarraces and houses,lots of green plants and parts of it are in the forest. Very nice overall and more diverse and intresting than we tought oryginally. Not many People there so you can hear birds singing and really rest in the nature. Idyllic atmosphere
One of the less ''interesting' levadas - you do not get so immersed in nature as you do in other hikes, but the views are still nice. It took about 1.5-2 hrs to complete and the same for return. Cano Girao, with the lovely glass terrace, is nearby and should not be missed. Pack water!
