Vehicles can be conveniently picked up and returned at the Oban Visitor Centre, located at 12 Elgin Terrace. The best way to get around and experience Stewart Island. The bikes were quality and worked well. The booking was super easy online. The pick up and delivery was also super easy and super relaxed. We loved chatting to the owner and getting a few very valuable recommendations on what to do on the island. Super friendly and relaxed, we will be renting from here again.
Pete was wonderful! We had such a great time riding around on the E-bikes that were fun & absolutely necessary for seeing Stewart island easily. He gave us some tips for fishing spots as well as beautiful views. He had us fully prepared with gloves for my chilly hands and sorted us out with a bag to pop the fishing rod in. Great service, great bikes, flexible hire options - although if you have the time, the 8 hr hire option is perfect for biking almost all the roads and walking the stunning tracks on Rakiura/Stewart Island. Highly recommended as the best (and most fun) way to experience this stunning place.
Easy to book, we had an absolute blast hooning around every road on the island (and some more than once!) There are quite a few steep but short hills around Oban, and the electric boost meant we could fully explore everything plus do a few walks - you just parked up the bike and hit the trail. We had a six hour hire which meant we didn't have to hurry anything, and we had plenty of battery life to use the turbo setting when needed. I fully recommend doing this, you'll really see everything. Chloe also made some good suggestions for places to go.
We had a great experience biking around Stewart Island. The bikes worked well, everyone we spoke to regarding our hire was super helpful, and they even had a bike that suited our tall 10yo. She had fun, we all did, and definitely appreciated the extra assistance up the hills (of which there are plenty!)
