The Kids Summer Surf Program is a fun and progressive three-day surf adventure designed for children aged seven to sixteen. Held at the beautiful Te Arai Beach Reserve, the program runs daily throughout the Christmas school holidays and provides a safe and exciting introduction to surfing.


Each ninety-minute session builds on the previous one, helping children progress from basic whitewater skills to confident wave riding. Experienced instructors group participants by age and ability, ensuring personalised attention for both complete beginners and those looking to improve their surfing skills.


Children receive hands-on coaching in the water, learning essential techniques such as paddling, popping up, wave riding, board control, and turning. The sessions are conducted in a supportive and engaging environment that encourages confidence, coordination, and ocean awareness.
