The tour begins with a visit to the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, established in 1989 by the Malaysian Wildlife Sanctuary within the Krau Wildlife Reserve to protect rare Asian elephants. Currently home to 30–35 rescued elephants, this sanctuary serves as a rehabilitation center for those displaced by poaching and deforestation. Some elephants, unable to return to the wild, remain under lifelong care and are trained to assist in future rescues. Guests will have the chance to engage with these majestic creatures through feeding and observation, while also learning from an informative conservation documentary. Visiting the Kuala Selangor Fireflies was magical! Seeing thousands of fireflies lighting up the mangroves was truly unforgettable. The boat ride was peaceful and relaxing. It’s a unique experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
We went on a private tour which included other places. The guide said it was low tide so boat can't get up close to riverbank and took us to Firefly Kuala Selengor. We waited in line, got on a rowboat, and saw a lot of fireflies. We were lucky the weather was good. It was a once in a lifetime experience. The line was long because it was a national holiday.
The fire flies was fun watching but the water is so dirty and it’s also sad that they catch fire flies in small net to shoe people. I saw one couldn’t fly after that. I just feel that’s not necessary to harm or disturb nature. Also the boat is over packed with people. No space to turn around for views
Friendly staffs to guide visitors to the park. The provided life jacket looks new which is a good thing. Not necessary to bring or use any insect repellent as there were no mosquitoes. Park and the public toilet was clean.
The views are amazing and the staff are so friendly. Went with 3 of my friends and an infant, the ride was suitable for all. Very relaxing atmosphere and there were many fireflies to see that night. Loved the experience.
