I can definitely recommend taking a safari with this company. They helped me find a group to join last minute. The price was the best value I found in all my research and the driver Harsha was really knowledgeable, friendly and funny. We saw all the big 5 and had a fantastic day. I would recommend you take some wep wipes with you as it gets super dusty, toilet roll for the toilet stops, and also anyone with long hair, tie it back and out the way and the wind & driving makes it very knotted.
We had an unforgettable experience with Wilpattu safari Jeep ! The guide were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about wildlife. The jeep was comfortable, and we got to see leopards, elephants, and countless birds in their natural habitat. Everything was well organized, from pickup to drop-off. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Wilpattu National Park!
Nuwan was our guide and he was absolutely fantastic - we found 3 leopards and one of them we were there first before any other vehicle, and the leopard was playing in the sand by herself and rolling on her back, and a sloth bear too along with crocodiles, elephants and amazing birds, deer and all sorts. He arranged a delicious lunch in the shade on the lakeside, it was so memorable. Very knowledgeable and a very good driver too - the best safari at Wilpattu for sure! Also, he bought our tickets for the park the day before so we didn't need to queue at 6AM along with the 50 or more other vehicles and we went straight in opening time - something very important to consider! He also lent me his 100-400mm lens, as we have the same Canon 7D markii camera, which enabled me to capture even better shots!
Absolutely superb day, couldn’t be happier. The guide was very experienced, always knew when and where to wait to get the best chance of seeing leopards and it paid off. He was very informative and even took some amazing photos for us. Overall well worth every penny.
Go with Wilpattu Safari Jeep, don’t hesitate! We got the luck that we had the guide named Nuwan, he was very knowledgeable and taught us really interesting things that we haven’t heard in the other 3 jeep safari’s we did in Sri Lanka. To kick off, we saw a slothbear for more than 5 minutes pottering around. After that we saw 3 leopards that moved on, given Nuwan’s experience he drove to a spot where they crossed the road and did this a second time. So we were very lucky! During the day we saw a lot of interesting birds and told us some good information about them. Of course we saw monkeys as well. The food provided was also a winner! Thanks a lot for giving us a unforgettable time in Wilpattu! This all for an affordable price!
