We had an amazing 3-day experience with Classical Lanka Tours! From the breathtaking Sigiriya Rock Fortress and historic Dambulla Cave Temples to the thrilling Minneriya Safari, every moment was unforgettable. Visiting Kandy's Temple of the Tooth brought a sense of peace and culture, while Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage gave us a heartwarming glimpse into elephant care. The charming Hiriwadunna Village added a beautiful touch of local traditions and hospitality. The trip was perfectly organized, with knowledgeable guides and a well-paced itinerary. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to explore Sri Lanka. Thank you, Classical Lanka Tours, for a truly memorable journey!

KANDY TO ELLA TOUR Kushan had great knowledge and really did look after us. On the way to Ramboda Falls we stopped at the roadside and he showed us all the different types of trees including Pine, Coconut,Rubber, Almond, Mango, Avocado and many others. There were also so many beautiful flowers including the lovely trumpet flower. Kushan bought us some pine syrup which was very tasty.I thought it was a bit nutty. We went a bit further & stopped at a wood crafting place where we bought a small Ebony Budda. We could see Ramboda Falls in the distance. We then drove a bit further to the base of Ramboda Falls. It was quite a climb up which was quite difficult in the humidity but we had some handfuls of the clean filtered water direct from the small waterfalls on the way up. It was very refreshing and clean. The man guiding us up even picked me a beautiful wild flower. When we got about a mile up it was beautiful. On the way down a man showed us his plot of land where he had carrots growing next to the waterfalls. Next stop was Damro Tea Plantation. We were shown around the tea factory. They went through the process of how the tea is produced. They explained how to teas we get are mixed & not pure like they produce. They explained how the more oxidised the leaf is the stronger the tea. We also got to sample some tea which was really refreshing. After our refreshing cuppa we set off to Nuwara Eliya. On the way we stopped for a fish rotti. Arriving in the City of Nuwara Eliya we discovered it had a lot cooler climate & reminded me in some parts of England with its British built Tudor Style Post Office built in 1894, Gregory Lake, Race Course & connections to our Royalty with streets named Queen Street etc. We enjoyed going into the post office, picking a post card & sending it back home to ourselves all the way from Sri Lanka. Our guide Kushan even wrote a message on the post card which we will enjoying translating when we receive it back home. We then traveled throught the beautiful countryside to Ella which was quite a journey on tight bend roads with tuck tucks often weaving the roads. We saw many fresh fruit stalls on the side of the roads in the middle of nowhere. Everything looked² so fresh & there were many fruits and vegetables that we didnt even recognise. Kushan pointed out the King Coconut, Jack Fruit & many more that we can't remember the names of. Kushan also poited out food growing as we travelled pointing out corn, onions, carrots, cabbage, rice, pepper etc. He explained how he is also a Rice Farmer & helps his family when he is not doing the tours. He had a wealth of knowledge about agriculture & herbs sharing with us the different methods of preparation between black & white pepper & many herbal medicines. We stopped off at a Hindu Temple and then set of walking to the Nine Arch Bridge. Unfortunately, we got lost so turned back & went back to the car. We set off back to the hotel but Kushan thought it a shame for us to miss the bridge so he went to a different location & walked with us to make sure we didn't get lost. It was a good job he came with us as it happened to be a mile of Jungle Trekking to reach the bridge & we wouldn't have had a clue where we were going without him. We made it to the bridge & it was great.
