This 9 Mile experience involved sensory somersaults! Mine was of a tour split in two parts. We arrived in our private car and were greeted by a group of men outside. They directed us to a roadside parking spot. The same men told us the tour was split into two parts: one showcasing Bob’s childhood landscape and environment, and the other featuring his family home and mausoleum. We believed them, but they were scammers. Surprisingly, the scammers were informative and entertaining. The lead guide led us on a tour of what was essentially a cannabis farm. He produced a huge bag of weed, but we do not smoke. When we asked about facilities to buy food, he mentioned someone was jerking some chicken back. No lie!! They charged $25 USD pp and took us on an amusing tour. Finally, we were escorted to the main entrance gates, which we hadn’t seen before. This marked the start of the second part - the proper tour, which was $35. That’s when it hit us – the hustlers had scammed us. While I wasn’t too upset, I wished they’d been more upfront. We enjoyed their banter, but we spent too much time on foolishness rather than the actual tour. The second part, the actual tour, was good. We had an informative guide - Barky - who was spiritually conscious. The grounds were well-kept and the tour was reasonably organised. Fortunately, the quiet atmosphere allowed our guide to lead a relaxed tour. While his information was good, it felt rehearsed. The breathtakingly beautiful artwork, memorabilia and ambiance made the tour worthwhile. The chapel, museum, mausoleum, and stunning scenery were integral to the experience. The lush landscape and hillsides were beautiful, but the road conditions perilous. Thankfully, our 4x4 car made it, but the road up to 9 Mile from the Moneague toll road exit was treacherous. Our car got stuck in a deep ditch filled with rainwater. We felt shell-shocked, exhausted, and stressed by the time we arrived. The second part of the tour was professional and well-organised, including gift shops, a pleasant bar, clean facilities, and friendly staff. The tour itself comprised of interesting Marley family photographs and artefacts. There’s a separate mausoleum for Cedella, and a beautifully designed ‘Cedella Marley Booker Cannabis Club’ room. The artwork and memorabilia are stunningly beautiful, and the information is clearly presented. Our guide, Barky, was spiritually conscious and explained aspects of Rastafarian traditions and culture. I’m glad we came to pay our respects to Bob and Cecelia. The trip, warts and all, was worth it. Tips: - Bring plenty of small change for tips. Avoid carrying too much cash as it’s easy to overspend. - Stay vigilant and avoid being scammed by people outside who try to convince you their tour is part of the package. - Be wary of people who offer to wash your car and then demand payment when you leave. I’d run out of money so…c’est la vie!

Definitely worth the trip. $35 per adult, $15 for children 11 and under, and under 5 is free. Be prepared for steps. My tour guide was Sheldon. I had a lot of questions about each building since I'm a fan of Bob Marley. He patiently answered all of them. There's quite a few shops in Reggae Land. Jewelry, novelties, hats, cups and t-shirts in the 1st shop. Once you go up where the bar is at, you'll find 2 more shops. The Trading Post has clothing such as dresses, shirts, shorts and novelties. Then there's Cedella's Legacies High Grade Cannabis. There’s a restaurant, you'll find the day's menu inside and by the bar. The oxtail, rice and peas and veggies were delicious.

This was our first time on this tour and it was fantastic! Our bus tour guide Kevin and our museum tour guide were wonderful and went above and beyond to make this an unforgettable experience. All the employees were welcoming and greeted us. There was so much to see and many opportunities to purchase souvenirs that help and support the local community. Bring plenty of cash. I highly recommend this tour.

This tour was absolutely touching. The drive fr the main road is long, but it's worth it. You actually get to go inside the house he was born in, and the house he grew up in. The best part was seeing his actual resting place and all of his awards. I loved every min of it. Pix attached is at his childhood home.

A must do when in Jamaica, emotional seeing where Bob grew up and where he is laid to rest, seeing the famous single bed. No photos allowed as it should be inside the Mausoleum. Bring tips as you will be expected to tip the guide and the little band/musicians who are based there. This trip is heavily focused on weed, but if it’s not your bag just don’t buy any, there is no pressure to purchase it so don’t let it put you off. When you get to the bar they sell a $10 shot, but again no pressure to buy. The gift shop is quite expensive but that’s the same with most gift shops in a tourist attraction.
