Explore the rich flavors and history of Verona on this guided food tour, available in English or Italian. Begin at a local olive oil mill shop, where you’ll taste three varieties of olive oil classic, spicy, and truffle paired with a delicious bruschetta while learning about the olive-growing traditions of Verona and Lake Garda. Strolling through Corso Porta Nuova, admire the city’s medieval walls and Fascist-era buildings, and discover museums featuring Roman busts, offering insight into Verona’s deep cultural roots.
Next, visit a renowned chocolate shop dating back where you’ll uncover the fascinating history of Italian chocolatiers who once served the Royal Court of Savoy. Sample three iconic Italian chocolates and learn about the craftsmanship behind both mass-produced and artisanal cocoa processing. As you wander through Verona’s UNESCO-listed historic center, marvel at the medieval Castelvecchio, the Roman Triumphal Arch of the Gavi family, and elegant eighteenth century palaces, all while listening to captivating stories from your guide about Verona’s vibrant past.
The journey continues with a tasting of Verona’s unique take on pizza, adapted from its Neapolitan origins by the Boscaini family. This version features a soft, milk-infused dough and a richly seasoned tomato sauce, showcasing traditional Italian spices. Finally, at Flego Historical Patisserie, indulge in the Risino, a delightful custard and rice cake highlighting Verona’s renowned rice production, perfect for both risottos and desserts.

We had an amazing experience with Mariangela. Very professional, friendly, knowledgable and hospitable. Picked us from the hotel and accompanied us to the three wineries in Valpolicella that they had booked. The choice of wineries was exceptional - we would have not discovered or booked any of these on our own. High quality, family run, small production wineries - at two of the three wineries we had the owners giving us the tour and tasting. Would recommend Valpolicella Tasting very strongly.

Mariangela made our day magical. We loved our wine tour with a light lunch. Icing on the cake was the cooking class though. We will never forget it!

Wow, what a gem of a place or should I correctly say Palace, just north of Verona in the village of Bure just a short bus ride from central Verona. We travelled to the vineyard to sample some of their wines and tour the estate. What we actually experienced was a first rate tour of the estate, meeting the owners and hearing their story and their connection to the area, plus a tour of their beautifully restored home that was once an actual Palace. The history and the amazing frescoes of this building make it worth the visit alone. But then we were wowed by their amazing wines, olive oil and charcuterie board- what a great day! Needless to say we left with several bottles to enjoy back at our accommodation ( it would have been more but we had carry on luggage so couldn’t take any home). They do provide a service to transport bottles to your home address. We will return, especially as they also run an agriturismo. Thank you again for a great experience and a big thanks to Valentina for looking after us so well.

The Valpolicella Tasting team organised an amazing experience for us. Both wineries we visited were small, beautiful, and interesting each in their different ways. The quality wines were beautifully presented and expertly explained. Very tasty local food produce accompanies the wines. Also the driver for the day was great and the van was excellent. I would 100% recommend the Valpolicella Tasting team to organise your wine tasting tour.

Mariangela arranged for my girlfriend and I to visit a small, boutique winery in Valpolicella. We tasted Valpolecilla Classico, Ripasso, and the famous Amarone alongside some lovely local dishes of cured meats, pistachio spread, fresh bread, and delightful cookies. The views from the 450m high winery were breathtaking. Most importantly, Mariangela was sweet, knowledgeable, attentive, and full of delightful recommendations for Verona and the rest of our trip. If in the Verona area, go taste Valpolicella with Mariangela! Highly recommend.
