In the heart of Trastevere, one of Rome’s most charming and authentic neighborhoods, lies a hidden gem beneath an 18th-century building—Catina Fabllus, an underground cellar that was once a Roman cistern dating back to the 1st century A.D. Carefully restored and furnished with antique pieces, this unique space offers an unforgettable setting for an exclusive food and wine tasting experience. The intimate ambiance, steeped in over 2,000 years of history, sets the stage for a culinary journey through the rich flavors and traditions that define Italian gastronomy. This tasting, lasting approximately one hour, is more than a meal—it’s a deep dive into Italy’s cultural and culinary heritage, curated to delight your senses.
Guests are treated to a generous selection of Italy’s finest artisanal delicacies, each with its own story and regional origin. Among the specialties are Gorgonzola DOP, Taggiasca olives, Parma ham DOP, Parmigiano Reggiano, Lardo di Colonnata DOP, Mortadella DOP, and Salami, paired with traditional breads like Tuscan “Sciocco” PDO and Veroli PGI bread. You'll also enjoy Pizza Romana, Buffalo Mozzarella and Ricotta, Pecorino Moliterno PGI, Provolone Monaco PDO, and Bresaola of Vacca Podolica—a true feast for lovers of fine food. This immersive tasting invites you not just to eat, but to become a taste explorer, savoring the essence of Italian culinary excellence in a setting like no other.

A very interesting and enjoyable tour guided by the very entertaining and amusing Luca (Murphy.) A very nice combination of good food, good wine and Roman history with a nicely sized group of eleven.people sampling food at seven varied stops. My wife and I had a wonderful evening and can highly recommend this tour.

We took the Eternal Rome: Jewish Ghetto, Campo de' Fiori and Trastevere tour with a wonderful guide, Riccardo. He explained the history of each district and the food we tasted along the way. The food and drink was plentiful and the stops were well-spaced between walks so we were never too full. We had taken this tour during our last visit to Rome and Riccardo kindly called ahead to the restaurants so our menu was different this time. This is a great way to get a deeper dive into a city beyond the major tourist attractions. Do not eat before these tours!!!

One of the highlights to our trip to Rome, we have been on a few tours in Rome and we're a bit nervous for this but our host Dalia made the entire tour amazing and we had some fantastic guests with us. For the food, it was a great selection of foods that we really enjoyed. As vegetarians we were catered for well, especially the final few stops. I would massively recommend choosing this tour and if you're lucky enough to have Dalia host you, you'll have an amazing time! We travelled Trastevere and sampled the vest foods from the best locations and along the way learnt some fantastic history.

We had a private walking tour of Trastevere with Giuseppe and it was AMAZING! We spent 4 fabulous hours walking, eating, drinking, and learning all about the lovely area of Trastevere. Every bite and every sip was better than the previous one. Peppe was funny, charismatic, and knowledgeable about all things Rome. Not only did we learn about the local food and restaurants, we also learned about Italian history and culture. No question was off limits. We would highly recommend a private tour because we got the VIP treatment from every restaurant and we had amazing conversations.

This experience is a must for food lovers traveling to Rome and looking for unique and hard to find local spots. The places they take you to would be almost impossible to find or get into without some serious local connections. Giuseppe was our guide and he was super knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor and made the experience super fun. My wife and I live in NYC and actively seek quality food. We had the best burrata we’ve ever eaten at da Enzo on this tour. We ate there before the restaurant was open to the public and when we left, the line was around the block, and for good reason! You also get a tour of a 2000 year old wine cellar at Spirito Di Vino, which was incredible. Everything else was top notch and you also get to meet some cool people along the way. 10/10, will do this again if/when we come back to Rome!
