We had a great time in June when we visited. One thing to note is that ownership of the hotel had changed from the time we booked and the time we arrived. We used a 3rd party booking site, which may have been why we weren't told about the change. We were a little disoriented when we arrived and the hotel name wasn't listed on the building. Also note that there are several hotels in the same building. We finally found it on the second floor. The hotel was safe and clean. The front desk attendants were awesome. Most of them speak 4 languages. Our flight was early, so we wanted to store our luggage and explore. They had us stash it in a halfway right by another room. We ended up doing it, but if that makes you nervous that you're luggage may be out, you may want to make other plans. The location was absolutely amazing. Right in the middle of everything and about two blocks from the metro. If you can't walk where you want to go, you can hop on the subway!
The hotel is nice looking, spacious, clean and comfortable. There were a few problems though: firstly, the hotel is not at the address listed. It is only across the road but this makes checking in very confusing. Also, the air conditioning in the room was not cold enough (we set it to the lowest possible temperature). It was very hot in Rome and we sweated through the night as the system was just not up to the job. The WiFi signal in our room was very weak and often dropped out because of this. There is only one lift so it sometimes meant having to take the stairs. Not a problem for us but not great for less mobile people. We enjoyed our stay but these were some things that might be deal breakers for others.
The Classic Roma was able to accommodate a last minute (day of) booking after the hotel we had booked turned out to be incredibly bad. Not only did they honor a sale price via a third party vendor, but they got us in within an hour. The hospitality was amazing: Marge at the front desk was super helpful, friendly, and extremely outgoing to make sure we were set up to have the best and easiest time while staying with them. The hotel itself also was very secure (safe) and we never felt like we needed to worry while in the building. The room itself was great: clean, updated and had everything we needed. There are larger rooms, but the smaller ones are just fine since you probably won't be spending too much time in them anyway. The location couldn't be better: it's in a busier and nicer part of the city, and is just minutes away from the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Pantheon, with the rest of the city just short walks away, a metro stop around the corner, and a ton of shopping nearby. Overall, they turned what could have been a miserable time in the city into a great experience. Props to the front desk person Marge for being so awesome and helpful to us when we got there.
Pros: Our room was very clean and spacious and we were provided all the necessary amenities. The staff was very friendly and helped us with all our questions. I was so happy with the location, 5 min walk to metro Barberini and 10 minutes to Fontana di Trevi. The hotel was located on a quiet side street but was also close to a very busy area with lots of restaurants and bars and it was easy to catch a cab too. Cons: The breakfast selection was poor and the quality was average. Walls were thin and I got woken up one night by other guests outside. The front door of the building stayed unlocked overnight so it felt like anyone could walk in but we never encountered any unpleasant people. Our floor had a door that locked though. We had a wonderful and comfortable stay overall.
Perfect location, nice & clean with a lovely breakfast! The Classic Roma has a perfect location in the center of Rome with walking distance to everything! The room and bathroom are nice and clean. I loved the breakfast. I had musli and yoghurt, which is not easy to find in all hotels in Italy. The staff are very friendly and kind. They all speak english! Will be back soon for sure!
