Dive into over 2,000 years of art, faith, and cultural heritage on this private guided tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and, upon request, St. Peter’s Basilica. Accompanied by a licensed expert, you’ll explore one of the most extraordinary collections of human creativity ever assembled. Begin inside the Vatican Museums, wandering through galleries filled with masterpieces from ancient Roman, Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods. From classical statues to intricate mosaics, each corridor reveals stories of power, belief, and artistic brilliance, offering an immersive journey into the evolution of Western art and culture.
Next, step into the world-renowned Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo’s frescoes unfold above you, including the iconic Creation of Adam and Last Judgment. Your guide will provide insights into the artist’s genius and the complex history shaped by Popes, artists, and visionaries over centuries. Upon request, continue into St. Peter’s Basilica, one of Christendom’s holiest sites and a Renaissance marvel, featuring Michelangelo’s Pietà, Bernini’s Baldachin, and the awe-inspiring dome. Access is subject to availability and security conditions on the day. Ask for Mario – he transforms an ordinary tour into something truly captivating and unforgettable. His passion, deep knowledge, and vivid storytelling brought everything to life. Best of all, no embarrassing flag: he learned everyone's names and called stragglers personally through the earpieces. We felt respected, individual, and like we were on a private tour. I wish every guide did this. Thank you, Mario, from the bottom of my heart. You somehow channeled my recently departed dad and made a difficult day profoundly meaningful.

Joined the Vatican tour guided by Dr Fabrizio Danieli. An archaeologist by training, very informative and I personally couldn’t ask for anything more. Saluto!

Ask for Mario if possible. He makes what could be boring incredibly interesting. Really. He did such an amazing job making it all come alive, and he had such a wealth of knowledge that I was truly impressed. And that takes a lot. At the start of the tour, I had trouble with my earbuds. Mario was the most patient person on the planet. He tried another speaker device. He tried two more earbuds. Finally he tried a headset. We were all so impressed with his patience and perseverance. even I would have been irritated with me. Another unique thing about Mario was the fact that he did not carry one of those dumb flags. That has to be the most embarrassing thing about being on a tour. Instead, he learned all of our names (there’s no way I could’ve done that.) So if somebody was missing, he just called our name through the earbuds. We felt so much less humiliated and so much less like chattel. We also felt more like we were on a private tour. It would be nice if more tour guides would do this. Really. He also encouraged me to try to recapture a part of our trip that we had missed due to illness…and it worked. I wonder if he knew that he had channeled my dad, who had recently passed away? Thank you, Mario, for everything! (It worked, by the way!)

We booked a Vatican Museums + Sistine Chapel + St Peter’s Basilica tour and enjoyed it very much. Our guide Ennio was very knowledgeable, kind and friendly. He navigated the crowds with such ease that we barely even noticed them. He also gave us a great local restaurant suggestion for dinner after the tour. The booking process was also easy, and lovely Rexhina provided invaluable advice and support. What a Life Tours will be our go-to agency whenever we are in Rome 🇮🇹

What a Life Tours is the best!! My husband pre-booked the tour to the Vatican and the “skip the line” service is a must. Our tour guide Ennio was fabulous—knowledgeable, informative and so much fun!! Given the crowds, he navigated us through alternate routes which were informative and fun. He is a delight and a real pro. A few people in our group asked him totally off script questions and he knew his information! Don’t miss this tour (Vatican, Sistine Chapel and the Basilica) and request Ennio!
