Step into the world of Tuscan winemaking with a journey through one of Maremma’s most renowned estates, where tradition and innovation merge seamlessly. Nestled among rolling hills and kissed by the Mediterranean breeze, this estate is a testament to the Mazzei family’s 600-year legacy in viticulture. Your experience begins with a guided walk through the sun-drenched vineyards, where native and international grape varieties thrive in the unique terroir. With rich soils of alberese and sandstone, combined with the coastal microclimate, these vines produce wines of exceptional character and depth.
Your journey continues into the heart of the estate’s barrel cellar, a space where time and craftsmanship shape the wines to perfection. Here, you’ll witness the delicate aging process as wines mature in carefully selected oak barrels, developing balance and complexity. The Mazzei family's commitment to excellence is evident in their winemaking techniques, which honor tradition while embracing modern advancements. Your expert guide will walk you through each step, from hand-harvesting to fermentation, showcasing the dedication that goes into every bottle.
The tour concludes with a curated tasting of six exceptional wines, each a reflection of the estate’s passion and expertise. You’ll explore a variety of expressions, from fresh whites to robust reds, including two of their acclaimed Cru wines, considered the pinnacle of their craft. As you sip, your guide will share insights into the unique characteristics of each wine, their connection to the land, and the philosophy behind their production. More than just a tasting, this experience immerses you in the history, culture, and artistry that define Tuscan winemaking, making it an unforgettable journey for both wine lovers and curious travelers alike.

This was my 3rd or 4th time at Cantina Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano and yet it is one of the most interesting winery in Scansano area. A modern and impeccably organized one, for an absolutely delightful experience. The tour was very complete, guiding us through every step of the winemaking process with precision and clarity, from grapes selection to aging and bottling. We had the pleasure of tasting the winery top Vermentinos and Morellinos, each one offering something unique and captivating (with the real star of the show being the Sicomoro, an absolute must-try Morellino). This winery is a must for anyone who wants to enjoy fine wine tasting but also discover the complete winemaking process from start to finish.

Great wine great staff and just a couple of km from scansano.A visit is highly recommended

We enjoyed your Roggiano at a restaurant in Firenze so much, we purchased a few bottles to take home. We've just enjoyed I with dinner at home in New Jersey in the US. It was a wonderful treat. Grazie!

Beautiful shop, excellent selections. Unfortunately the man selling the products (see photo) was really not friendly at all. We wish we could have been served by Margherita instead. Reading the reviews Margherita seems lovely but this man really did not want us to enter his shop. Very annoyed by our presence despite we spent 300€ of wines and olive oil. We asked him to taste one or two wines before buying, since the bottles were there and already open and there were plenty of glasses too so we were hoping to test some. He said tasting needed to be booked in advance, but we were the only people in the shop and thought maybe we can just taste one or two small glasses before buying. Finally we managed to convince him but we had to use one glass in 3 people to taste 2 different wines which he was really not happy for us asking to taste. What a shame, Italians are usually friendly and lovely people but this man is killing this business. No passion and not even one small smile from him. If we would have been served by Margherita we would have probably bought double if not triple the amount. What a shame, please help this man smile a little more, have some more passion for this beautiful shop, or just bring back Margherita.

Fantastic local white, red and rosy wine for very competitive prices. The lady who helped us spoke perfect English (sorry!) and really knew her grapes and wines. Highly recommended if passing through, but make sure you've got lots of space in the boot first!
