Do not miss this amazing ten day small group tour!!! Our guide extraordinaire, Douglas, shared his incredible knowledge and passion of Sicilian ancient, medieval and modern history. We loved his stories and enthusiasm that made Sicily come to life for us. The supporting guides were also excellent. From the back streets of Palermo, ancient temples, the largest intact and extravagent Roman villa uncovered in the world, beautiful gardens, fabulous food, breathtaking scenery, Sicilian history........so much and such varied experiences every day. The accommodation was of varied standards but always something interesting in or nearby. Lucia was most helpful in assisting us to organise our tour. Our transport was very comfortable with an excellent driver. We recommend at least one or more additional nights in beautiful Taormina under Mount Etna as one night would have left us disappointed. We also were very pleased that every day was not fully organised and we were able to take time out to do our own thing following Douglas's fabulous suggestions. Some were half days and not all meals were organised which was perfect. We thank the team and are delighted to recommend Sicily Tours with great enthusiasm.

Lucia was extremely helpful, organising a great private tour of the archaeological park and a wonderful wine tasting at Planeta winery. She then stayed in touch with us during our whole trip in Sicily, always available for tips and advice.
Back in January, we booked a trip to Ortigia for September and were planning to do some group tours to other key locations. Then the pandemic happened and we thought that we would not be able to go on any tours. Fortunately, some good friends recommended that we contact Ciauru di Sicily Tour, which we did. She put together a fantastic itinerary for us, including a walking tour of Ortigia and visits to Noto, Modica, Ragusa, Taormina and some small and delightful “Godfather” villages. Having explored different tour options, I decided on choosing Ciauru di Sicily Tour after finding that their communication and pricing was very clear. Compared to other tours/drivers there is quite some haggling needed and a variety of prices that I have hardly ever seen before, lets just say some companies are asking more than flight tickets.... We were picked up by our guide Angela, who took us to several places around Palermo and Trapani. What struck me was that the team had no problem to go beyond what was required, booking restaurants, hotels and wine tours without ever asking for extra fees or complaining about the extra work. There was never any time they were rushing us on or if there were places we might wanted to see along the way that she wasnt willing to take us to. She was further able to give us background information about most monuments and cities which gave context to the tour. One instance stuck out for me where for instance she dropped us off at the Greek temples of Argigento drove 20 minutes to the Turkish steps to check (eventhough she called) to see if we could still visit them after it was informed that they were closed. As mentioned, they had no problem to go beyond what was expected. High recommended and also required to get around Sicily (without a car you will need several more days just to go from one location to the next). Marijn
