The Ultimate Icelandic Adventure Tour is an eight-day journey through some of Iceland’s most breathtaking landscapes, combining natural wonders, unique geological formations, and rich cultural heritage. Starting in Reykjavík, the route covers the Golden Circle, including Þingvellir National Park, the erupting geysers at Geysir, and the powerful Gullfoss waterfall, before heading to the South Coast for iconic sights like Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, and Reynisfjara black sand beach. The adventure continues with the Katla Ice Cave, Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, and Diamond Beach, then into the tranquil Eastfjords with stops in Djúpivogur and Borgarfjörður Eystri, plus a relaxing soak in Vök Baths. The northern leg of the trip features Stuðlagil Canyon, Dettifoss, Námaskarð, Dimmuborgir lava fields, Goðafoss waterfall, and whale watching in Akureyri, as well as visits to Glaumbær turf farm, Borgarvirki fortress, and Hvítserkur rock formation. Along the way, travelers encounter hidden gems like Kolugljúfur canyon, volcanic craters, and serene waterfalls such as Glanni and Hraunfossar, with enriching cultural stops at Sturlureykir horse farm and the geothermal marvel Deildartunguhver.
The final days explore the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, famed for Kirkjufell mountain, dramatic lava fields, fishing villages, pebble stone beaches, the black church at Búðir, and wildlife at Ytri-Tunga, before returning to Reykjavík. The journey concludes with a guided hike to the volcanic landscapes of Fagradalsfjall on the Reykjanes peninsula, where surreal lava fields and volcanic terrain offer a glimpse into Iceland’s raw geological forces. Across its diverse itinerary, this tour blends adventure, relaxation, and cultural discovery, offering travelers an in-depth experience of Iceland’s natural beauty and historic treasures. Each day promises a balance of iconic sights and hidden gems, creating an unforgettable exploration of a land where fire meets ice.

I'm so happy I choose them to help me plan my 13-day trip, 2 days in Reikiavik, 11 in a self drive tour around all Iceland. I wrote to them just to know what they offer, but with my mind in do it for myself, like I always do, and your answers and suggestions where better than I expected, that make me to choose them. Because of the dates, it wasn't easy to book hotels in the remote places I wanted to visit, and they helped me with everything: hotel reservations, car rental, ferry, airport transfers, coordinating routes, answering my questions (for months!) and made great suggestions. I probably could have done it all myself (I'm sure I could have), but they made the organization so much easier, saving me time and helping me decide which cities to stay in based on feasible travel times, the season, and the weather. They even recommended hotels where I could have dinner, given the remote locations. The hotels were perfectly adequate as advertised. They provided everything electronically, as well as physical guides and maps, with suggestions of what to do every day. Hörður and Bragi always responded so polite and help me with my thousand doubts. Highly recommended!

In this crazy world where you do everything Online and dont know who you are dealing with it can be very scary. It is very reassuring to find a company like Iceland Road Trip, Everything went perfectly as scheduled . The car was there waiting and paid for . The Hotels that were chosen for us were all of superior quality and we even got upgrades in 2 of them . The itinerary was very detailed and easy to follow. Thanks to Braji. I would highly recommend using Iceland Road Trip

This has been my second time reserving a self drive tour with Iceland Road Trip. I liked it so much the first time, that I decided to use them again on my second visit to Iceland. It is so comfortable to have all of the reservations made for you and I have never encountered a problem with any of them. They also include a day to day planner with many suggestions for stops and activities along the way. When an activity was cancelled (due to weather conditions or volcanic activity) the amount of the reserved activity was reimbursed. I would highly recommend this worry free way of travel in Iceland.

Year ago we started to plan a trip to Iceland, after some research we arrived at the conclusion that we need assistance from a local agent who is familiar with geography of the country, road conditions , attractions and can help with reservation of accomodations. We turned to Iceland Road trip, we created together a customized route based on our preferences. RoadTrip took care of all booking and route planning. We got a detailed itinerary in electronic form and hardcopy , vouchers and a detailed printed map of the route, which became very useful in places without cellular coverage (do not count on offline Google maps, because it does not not always work without internet access and gets confused). Hotels were carefully selected by the company and had 24 hours reception, which is a big advantage, since you may arrive very late in the evening. I'd advise 4x4 car, since in many cases asfalt will suddenly change to gravel and you will continue driving for tens of kilometers on pretty bumpy roads. Ask to hire and drop a car at the airport because it is more practical than taking a car in the city. Side note: due to delay in school exams schedule we had to delay our departure by 2 weeks. All adjustments were done transparently to us by the Company. Overall experience is very positive.

We have just come back from Iceland after experiencing the South Coast 5 day self drive road trip. Just wanted to say how super helpful Bragi was in organizing everything from the car, hotels, tours and a very detailed itinerary. We stayed an extra few days in Reykjavik and he organized that too. We didn't have to do much other than show up and enjoy ourselves. It was really great having everything ready for us. Thank you for making our adventure a wonderful experience.
