Embark on a truly unforgettable journey as you sail into Iceland’s longest glacial fjord, Eyjafjord, under the magical glow of the Midnight Sun. Departing daily each summer from 15th June to 14th August, this 3-hour classic boat tour begins in the charming town of Akureyri, where the majestic Súlur mountain stands tall in the background. As we cruise through the serene waters, you’ll witness dramatic coastal scenery, the picturesque island of Hrísey to the north, and quaint towns scattered along the fjord’s edge. The skies above teem with birdlife, adding to the spectacle of this one-of-a-kind Arctic experience. Our high-speed, specially designed vessel ensures smooth and thrilling sailing, while our cinema-style viewing platforms offer unmatched panoramic views.
The true highlight of the tour is the opportunity to encounter the magnificent humpback whales of Eyjafjord, renowned for their breathtaking breaches and playful tail slaps. These gentle giants often share the fjord with other marine life including minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, and harbor porpoises. With expert marine biologists guiding the tour, you’ll gain fascinating insight into the behavior and habitat of these incredible creatures. Whether you're winding down from a day of exploring or gearing up for an evening in town, this Midnight Sun whale watching tour is the perfect blend of excitement and tranquility. And for a delightful treat, don’t miss the onboard bar’s signature “Whale Punch” — a refreshing finish to an unforgettable evening at sea.

Worth it especially in winter! Great tour operator. The boat was not crowded at all and there were plenty of spaces to watch (also inside). Lots of whales even in November. There were overalls, raincoats and hot drinks available for no extra charge. Staff is really nice. The captain even let me sit up next to him and use his binoculars. They also share their research pictures from the tour via email. They also go past a hotspring waterfall. The boat is probably more comfortable that the tiny ones in husavik. Definitely recommend!

I can't recommend them enough! The boat ride was comfortable, the captain and the guide (Jeff from London) made the experience worth ever kronna. We saw plenty of whales, learned a lot and felt cared for.

A fantastic experience. Our guide and captain were both tremendous. Our guide was a biologist who shared her incredible knowledge freely. I loved the surprise visit to a hot waterfall. The company even provides pictures from the excursion as part of the package (no extra charge). I highly recommend.

We didn't see any whales on our trip and therefore were given a voucher for a second trip, in either location, valid for 2 years. So we did the trip twice; once in Akureyri and once in Reykjavik. In comparing the two trips (not the whales but the tour operators), I have to say that the experience in Reykjavik was far better. The guide was difficult to understand (sound quality?) and was not as thorough in his explanations compared to the guides in Reykjavik. They have coffee and basic drinks available for purchase. Was the crappiest latte I'd ever had. Also why not at least offer hot tea or coffee for free? These are the main reasons for the lower stars. Boat was nice with suits available for warmth! All said, the harbor is absolutely beautiful and a hot spring fed waterfall is fun to see from the boat!

Insanely good. Well arranged tour, well maintained, equipped, and clean boat with plenty of places to seat and stand. The tour guide was knowledgeable AND fun. And, of course, you get to see whales, depending on your luck even repeatedly. Absolutely worth the price, not to be missed and definitely a reason to justify coming all the way to Akureyri
