I've patronised the Everglades hotel fo many years. Even buying vouchers every year for my adult children at Christmas for years. Yesterday was a severe disappointment! I met up for lunch with a friend I haven't seen for years. We ordered the soup of the day. Mine came to the table cold. I asked the waiter if it could be heated. He took it away... Brought it back, still cold!! How hard is it to warm soup? I didn't eat anymore of it. At the very least soup is the one thing that should be served piping hot! No excuse Everglades!
Had an amazing stay at the Everglades Hotel, everything from the car park up to the bathroom was gleaming and decorated beautifully, the rooms were exactly as expected and the beds and pillows are very comfortable, at no point were we left wanting for a thing as all the staff were attentive and pleasant. In particular, Finn went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and make our stay special. The hotel is also dog friendly which is fantastic, especially considering there’s a nice walk along the river Foyle on the hotel doorstep.
Afternoon tea for 4 never fails in the Everglades excellent from beginning to end with the wonderful Finn and team telling us our table is there for as long as we need. Food was fabulous and the piano playing was so relaxing. The atmosphere comfy chairs and good company made the afternoon complete ❤️
We stayed at this hotel on the night of January 10 and checked out on the morning of January 11 as part of a CIE tour, and I wanted to share how genuinely positive our experience was. The accommodations were comfortable and well maintained, and the staff were consistently welcoming, professional, and attentive throughout our stay. Breakfast on the morning of the 11th was relaxed, well organized, and a lovely start to the day. We also attended a Garth Brooks tribute band the evening we checked in on January 10, which was such a fun way to end the day and added a memorable local touch to our visit. I would also like to say this: hospitality staff sometimes have to navigate challenging situations with guests, and what stood out to me was the calm, respectful, and professional way the team handled everything I observed. Their composure and courtesy never wavered. Thank you to the entire staff for such a pleasant stay. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Derry and would be happy to stay here again.
Everything fab. In particular, the chicken burger on the bar menu was beautiful. Service so accommodating and friendly everywhere. Room clean and beds really comfortable. Special mention to Leeanne on reception who provided us with a room on extremely short notice. She was so helpful and is a credit to the hotel! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
