The Grand Central Hotel, a striking addition to Belfast’s skyline on Bedford Street and the seventh hotel in the Hastings Hotels Collection, combines contemporary luxury with a rich nod to the city’s history. Celebrated for its awe-inspiring height and elegant design, the hotel perfectly embodies the glamour and grandeur of a modern five-star hotel while honoring the legacy of the original 19th-century Grand Central Hotel. Its central location makes it an ideal destination for visitors seeking both sophistication and convenience in the heart of Belfast.
At The Observatory, located on the 23rd floor, Afternoon Tea is elevated into a truly memorable experience. Really wasn’t a fan of here and was very underwhelming. For a 5 star establishment the fact one side of the bar was what I would call is a line of misery (the complete right hand side of the bar was covered in dirty glasses and plates) is not what I expected when I visited yesterday with staff constantly adding dirty dishes and plates to this line rather than one member of staff being pro-active and start clearing. It’s never a great impression never mind a place that charges £17 for a cocktail which was mediocre with no nibbles to accompany. Also staff spent little time with us with no ‘nicenesses’ like ‘how are you today’ or ‘if this your first time here’, rather just a ‘what can I get you’. Also, in terms of a view, unless you are at the window it’s no different to sitting in any other hotel bar. Save your money and head to the Merchant cocktail bar if you are looking for a truly 5 star cocktail experience in Belfast.

Drink with a view. We were coming back from walking to Titanic when there was a break in the weather from overcast to sunny so we headed up to level O in the lifts to the left on the lobby floor to get a view of Belfast that was stunning. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The beer and cider were welcome refreshments whilst we enjoyed the ambience.

The view of Belfast from the 23rd floor at observatory is quite breathtaking. The iconic Belfast City Hall looked even more gorgeous and historical from an ariel view. It is not everyday you get such opportunities to dine and wine at this luxurious location. The customer service was great, attendance were very pleasant and welcoming. Of course the afternoon tea package was great and you can book the champagne option as well.

Stopped by for a few drinks with colleagues and had a lovely time. Service was exceptional and quick - all the recommendations were good. Ended up going with a Botanical Garden (Japanese Blossom Gin, Raspberry, Lemon, Pineapple, Cherry Perfume) and really liked it. If we’d had more time, I would have gone with an afternoon tea.
