Amazing if you are aware of what you are going to see. If not, it probably isn't the best attraction and I wouldn't recommend it unless you actually have an interest in communism. The location is kind of in the middle of nowhere but public transport takes you right there. The statues of Lenin and Stalin's heads can be easy to miss as I don't recall any signage. These statues are located down the stairs by Stalin's boots.

Finally, after years living in Hungary, we decided to visit Memento Park. This time we not only visited old, original statues from Communist era, we also learned about Hungarian history during this period. We had a phone call with Fidel, Che Guevara and Stalin, who tried to convinced us about how nice Communism is. As people who have lived through the devastating effects of communism, we believe it’s vital for people to stay vigilant and keep their eyes wide open. We also recorded a series of YouTube videos about this place and interesting facts about the statues in our YouTube channel @2Somewhere

Memento Park is an excellent visit. The park is small but striking. The photos don't do justice to the eerie and imposing nature of these statues. Buy the guidebook from the entrance and you will get the full experience as you read the stories behind each exhibit.

The 'Stalin's Boots' guidebook is highly recommended - a lot of valuable detail as you tour the site and to read later. A small gift shop, snack bar, and WC were available on site. The exhibition building across the street was informative - to include the Cold War era spycraft videos. Highly recommended if you are interested in such things - it was definitely worth the bus ride from town!

It's about an hour away from Budapest city centre, yet it's worth visiting if you have time. Plenty of statues to see and even a small room set on the other side of exhibition that shows you a glimpse of what was going on during the era.
