This tour exceeded my expectations and that of my family. Our guide, Panos, more than made up for the fact that it rained for the duration of our tour. We were so impressed with is ability to communicate his knowledge of the complex history of Greece and how it is inextricably bound to the birth of Philosophy and Democracy. We gained so much from this tour. To know you are standing just a short distance from where Socrates took his last breath, along with all of the other notable people and events along the tour is just a part of what we gained. Panos did a wonderful job of sharing knowledge that answers questions but also provokes questions. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves to learn.

Really enjoyed the history and philosophy tour with Panos. Saw some things we wouldn’t have seen ourselves and some great view points along the walk. Really recommend this.

Our experience with Greek Philosophy Tours was phenomenal! We worked with Dimitra to tailor a trip to my interests as a high school philosophy teacher—it was everything I hoped for! We spent 4 days in Athens, and 1 day on a day trip to the Peloponnese—visiting sites like Mykines, Epidavros, and Nafplio. Dimitra was so communicative and organized with our itinerary. It felt like each day we were experiencing something new. She arranged for multiple guided tours with a local philosophy professor, Panos Poulakidas. Panos’s wisdom, expertise, and knowledge was incredible. We were able to experience Plato’s Academy, Aristotle’s Lyceum, and the Ancient Agora with him—he brought each location to life with his storytelling and conversation. Sharing meals and tours with him was such a highlight for me as an educator. Not to mention all the other sites we were able to tour and visit! I would strongly encourage anyone with interest in Ancient Greek culture & philosophy to reach out to this wonderful team and arrange a trip! Our accommodations were lovely. We had a rooftop view of the Acropolis, and the food was incredible—Dimitra organized so many great meals for us! Overall, this was the trip of a lifetime for us, and we were so grateful to experience the living history of Greece!

Impressive tour from start to finish!! Dimitra and all of the staff of Greek Philosophy Tours went above and beyond in all aspects of customer service... developing and executing a spectacular in-depth self-styled personal tour to provide us more than a glimpse of the deep history of this place. From our fabulous driver Thonas through Philosophy Professor Stasinos, and all of the tour guides in between, we felt the ancient centuries brought to life by virtue of everything we heard, saw and touched. We felt the spirit of the many people who have passed through these places, walked on these grounds and sailed these waters. An uplifting educational experience and dream tour come true! Undergrad and Grad Philosophy student Richard sat in what is left of Plato’s Cave, and strolled amongst the trees in Aristotle’s beautiful Lyceum reflecting upon…the ancient thoughts that formed the philosophy of the future.

We did the "Footsteps of the Greats" tour with Professor Stasinos Stavrianeas. During the tour, we visited the remains of Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Lyceum, two of the greatest philosophy sites of antiquity. Our guide, Stasinos, was very knowledgeable and had so much to teach us about philosophy, history, and more. I would definitely recommend Greek Philosophy Tours to anyone interested in learning more about Ancient Greece and philosophy.

Greek Philosophy Tour organised our school trip to Greece for thirty students and four teachers. The company tailored this trip to our school's Philosophy Short Course and Classical Studies content. We walked in the steps of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, visited places linked to the birth of democracy; visited the Acropolis, the Corinth Canal, Mycenae, Nafplio and Cape Sounion. All the tour guides were highly erudite and friendly. The company provided two English speaking hosts who were at our disposal 24/7. We couldn't have asked for kinder and more professional hosts. Our hotel was in an attractive tourist area five minutes walking distance from Plaka. We wholeheartedly recommend this company!

We did a 3-day tour and discussion with Professor of Philosophy Stasinos Stravrianeas in both Athens and Delphi. It was an amazing and enlightening experience. We wanted to add a deeper cultural understanding to our Greek vacation with a study of Pre-Socratic philosophy, a very specific request, for which Stasinos was more than qualified. He is an excellent pedagogue, and enjoyable company. He was flexible and able to adapt to our different levels of knowledge. We toured sites listening to his anecdotes and stories, but spent most of the time in cafes discussing the birth of Philosophy. It was one of the highlights of our trip. We definitely recommend Stasinos and Greek Philosophy Tours.
