Had the pleasure of being apart of Shannon’s group on a doomed, dead and buried tour! Great value for 1.5-2hrs of jam packed information about some of Edinburghs most spookiest & historical sights instead of trying to walk around aimlessly and google information yourself. Shannon kept it the perfect balance of creepy side stories and interesting facts, especially down in the vaults describing some of those people we may “see” while we’re there👻 10/10 experience, Go raibh míle maith agat Shannon! 🇮🇪
Jude our tour guide was a master storyteller! Excellent history and just enough creepy details to keep you interested but not feel like it was some sort of haunted house attraction. Very cool access to the underground vault rooms, nice technology for being able to hear everything that was being said too! She also made it very clear she would keep anyone safe if they ever started to freak out in anyway and that was very reassuring. Husband was a skeptic that it would be too “hokey” but he ended up loving it too!
This tour was absolutely amazing! Our guide Shannon was an incredible storyteller: passionate, engaging, and with the perfect mix of history and eerie atmosphere. The multisensory experience made it all feel so real and immersive. The vaults are both fascinating and chilling, and the pacing was just right. I loved every minute of it! Definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Edinburgh!

I recently had the pleasure of completing the Ghost Tour with Shannon as my tour guide. Shannon did an amazing job of going into the history of the area and the origins of some of the more active haunts. While I didn't experience anything otherworldly during the tour; several in our group claimed to have. Shannon's knowledge of the area, engagement with the tour goers, and expert use of graveyard humour made the tour memorable and left me wanting to take more Mercat Tours during my stay in Edinburgh. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone interested in ghost tales, hauntings, and the history of Edinburgh's downtrodden. If possible, I would highly recommend taking the tour at night.
