I recently stayed at Marriott Fiji Momi Bay and while the room itself was beautiful and comfortable, the overall experience didn’t match the price or the brand’s usual standards. The staff were genuinely friendly, but the service delivery was disappointing. We were initially offered an upgrade to an ocean-view room, yet when it came time to check in, we were given the regular room without any clear explanation. They also mentioned they could manage an early check-in, but when we arrived, not only was the room not ready early it wasn’t even ready by the standard 3 PM check-in time. We ended up waiting an extra half an hour, and the upgrade was cancelled altogether, which felt quite unorganized. Another issue was the restaurants. The food options were decent, but the ventilation was very poor. Dining in the summer heat became uncomfortable, and it really affected the overall experience. The room itself was great and well-maintained, but considering the service, delays, and dining comfort, the stay didn’t feel worth the amount paid. With a few improvements in service consistency and facility comfort, this resort could easily offer the luxury experience it’s meant to, but for now it fell short.
This resort is amazing. It was our second stop on our vacation and we could not be happier! We had a bure on the lagoon and it was luxurious! Our room was beach front. The resort is phenomenal with so much to do and experience. Our dinner at Fishbar was incredible. And the adults only infinite Sunset pool provided the photo op of a lifetime! I look forward to coming back.
Our family's 4-night stay started poorly, but it ended up being a great holiday We arrived at 9 pm, but reception had no record of our booking. We were given a cheaper room (not what we had booked) and promised a move to our correct room "first thing" after breakfast That evening, we were told the restaurant for our inclusive dinner was closed, so we had to pay for room service. A booklet in the room later showed the restaurant was actually open until 10 pm The next day after breakfast, we were advised that it wouldn't be immediately and were asked to stay in the room till 11 am, packed and ready. At 12 pm, I called reception, only to be told that rooms are only available from 3 pm. We felt it was not their problem and we had to deal with it ourselves. I asked to speak to a manager, Josh, which changed everything. He listened, apologised, and had us in our correct room in 15 minutes, also providing a hotel credit for the trouble From that moment on, everything was perfect. The hotel is beautiful, facilities are in great condition, and all other staff were friendly. We truly enjoyed our stay In summary, the hotel is wonderful, but the front desk processes fail under pressure. If you have a smooth experience, you will love it. If not, speak directly to a manager
The resort is visually amazing. We stayed on the water 4 nights and on the beach 3 nights (honeymoon) and both rooms were great. The gym facility was nice and there was daily workout classes at 7:30am. Best buffet spread I’ve ever had in my entire life. The staff were lovely and really friendly. It was really hard to get out of the resort (so we didn’t) and they did shuttle bus trips into Nadi only twice a week, and we weren’t aware it was an option until we asked how could we get into town - and by then it was too late - and gave us no other options. Don’t do the JetSki experience with 2 people unless you’re really experienced. We didn’t have a great time because it was really challenging. I understand that me (23yr old) is not the ideal target for this resort. I felt like everything was super expensive because they take advantage of you not being able to really leave the resort easily. For example it was $70 FJD (2 of us) to go on a “sunset walk” that was a very basic dirt road walk to a hill (maybe 45 mins). We enjoyed the walk but felt it was unnecessary to charge for it when the resort fee is already quite high.
We loved honeymooning in Fiji! The resort was stunning all around; pools, ocean front hut, restaurants, activities. The staff was stupendous! They were extremely helpful, kind and fun. Thank you Tim Tam, Ravu, Pia, Bola, Joseph, Abu, Simi, Tavita, Sula, and Adi Eleone for making it an unforgettable experience and the reason we will be back! We loved the nightly music in the bar area and partook in every cultural activity that we could -- basket weaving was a fun keepsake to have. The locals were so kind and we loved learning about Fiji. The food on the resort was amazing!! The all inclusive package was great to have. Our room was perfect - we enjoyed the private beach area very much. The Spa was perfect for relaxation and connection.
