The trekking experience with this company was simply unbeatable. The guides were professional, the cook was amazing, and the views were out of this world. If you love hiking, this tour is perfect. The Bale Mountains were peaceful and full of wildlife. We even spotted Ethiopian wolves! The scenery changed every day — forests, plateaus, waterfalls. Absolutely worth it.

Danakil Depression Tours organised two trips for me, one to the Danakil Depression and one to Northern Ethiopia including the Simien Mountains. Both trips were brilliantly organised and went according to plan. Nothing was too much trouble for Mickey (the owner of the business) and he checked with me in several occasions to make sure I was happy. I did 3 tours with Danakil Depression Tours and they did a fantastic job !!! There was a slight error in the beginning where I accidentally transferred the amount twice when making the transfer. When we realized this, Mickey immediately called the bank in Ethiopia and reversed the second charge, further gaining my trust. Mickey displayed the highest honesty, generosity and integrity the whole trip, going above and beyond, calling me to make sure the trips were going well, and even taking me out the last night in Addis and paying for everything, all my dinners and drinks and also introduced me to some amazing young ladies in Addis. Abe and Debes in Omo Valley did an amazing job on our 5 day trip. Aki in Danakil was an amazing guide and our driver was highly skilled. Also I loved Lalibela, and seeing the carved church (do not miss!).. Mickey made sure to put me in the finest resort in the place, called Sora !! I would definitely hire Mickey again, and his prices are rock bottom, hard to beat !!! Thank you for everything Mickey, Arush and the team at Danakil !!!
