Begin your journey in the enchanting fishing village of Cudillero, one of the most picturesque spots along the Asturian coast. Tucked into a hillside, this vibrant village is known for its brightly colored houses cascading down toward the harbor, creating a stunning natural amphitheater. As you wander through its charming, narrow streets, you’ll discover hidden corners, cozy seafood restaurants, and breathtaking viewpoints that offer panoramic views of the Bay of Biscay. The village’s seafaring roots and peaceful ambiance make it a perfect escape into traditional coastal life.
Next, head to Avilés, a city where historic charm meets contemporary design. Stroll through the beautifully preserved Plaza de España, admire the traditional arcaded buildings along Calle de la Ferrería, and explore the futuristic Niemeyer Center, a cultural hub designed by renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer. Your adventure concludes at Cabo Peñas Lighthouse, perched atop towering cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. With its rugged coastline and awe-inspiring vistas, it’s the perfect place to reflect on the region’s natural beauty and maritime heritage.

Absolutely fantastic campsite with a beautiful view of the ocean.** The owner is friendly and extremely helpful, and the entire campsite is on grass. The facilities are 5-star quality — clean at all times. Highly recommended!"

The views from the lighthouse are absolutely spectacular. The museum itself is small, but nice and gives a lot of detail about Gozón's maritime heritage. The restaurant/bar at the Cabo Peñas is now closed, so eat/drink before you go up there.

Beautiful lighthouse on an amazing spot with beautiful views. I visited the small museum about the surroundings of the lighthouse. Only €1. It is possible to park at the entrance of the lighthouse. The bar/restaurant seems closed, though.

From the bar, walk along the cliff then around the lighthouse: the path is in the wild with boards that display information about terrestrial fauna and flora in las Peñas and as well about sea fauna such as dolphins that are protected. Lovely flowers along the path not to be missed. Very interesting also to look down the cliff.

Nice lighthouse area with views of the ocean. There is also a pub / bar / cafe near the lighthouse but it was closed when I visited the place. The lighthouse was also closed but we could walk around it. Abit time consuming to reach this area - you have to drive through small roads but highly recommend to visit.
