Discover the thrill of coastal fishing along Barcelona’s scenic Maresme coastline, a rich marine area known for its seasonal variety and exciting catches. Winter offers ideal conditions for bottom fishing, where species like snapper, seabream, mackerel and conger eel are commonly found. During spring and autumn, the coastline becomes a hotspot for large predators such as tuna, amberjack, swordfish and imperial needlefish, which are targeted using trolling techniques. When sea conditions allow, you can also enjoy spinning or light jigging, two dynamic and entertaining methods perfect for both beginners and experienced anglers. From April to November, trolling becomes especially rewarding, with frequent catches of bluefish and leerfish in shallow waters using natural bait.
As the warmer months approach, September and October bring the best opportunities for light trolling near the coast, where bonito and dolphinfish are typically found just a couple of miles offshore. This is a fantastic moment to experience the excitement of fishing with smaller lures such as feathers, Rapalas, Yozuris or other classic trolling baits. Whether you seek a relaxing day on the water or the thrill of reeling in a powerful fish, this coastal fishing experience offers a perfect blend of adventure, natural beauty and expert guidance. Enjoy a memorable day at sea with family or friends while discovering the richness of Barcelona’s marine life.

Cecilia

A truly fascinating visit to the lesser-known side of Barcelona's port: the fishermen's dock. Anna guided us through the various fishing activities and answered all our group's questions in detail, adding scientific facts and historical curiosities, such as the clock tower. A highly recommended experience!

A very interesting experience. Anna, an expert and passionate marine biologist, accompanied me on a discovery tour of the local fishing industry. I was able to watch the boats arrive, unload the fish, participate in the auction... and finally... taste some of the freshest anchovies. Anna is professional and knowledgeable. The talk isn't just about fish, but about the sea, its preservation, and much more. A highly recommended excursion in the heart of Barceloneta, where you can actively participate and gain a deep understanding of the fisherman's profession.
Hanne

Fantastic and a really authentic and non touristic experience. Loved the guided tour and the fish tapas.

Arianna’s ‘the Fishermen of the Barceloneta’ tour was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed. I am a London guide and I can tell her guiding is a professional level. She is a marine biologist, so that’s also make her talk very interesting. I saw how fishermen mend their fishing nets. I learned how fishermen use their boats to fish, how to fish octopus, etc. The fish auction was so fascinating to watch as well. This tour is great fun for everybody and it’s so special because this is where only authorised people are allowed to enter. Definitely recommended.
Emil

Very interesting view into a world that few (myself included) understand the complexity of due to the lack of transparency in our food system. We were shown around by a marine biologist who not only knew all about the market and auctions, but also taught os a lot about the practices and problems of modern fishery. Enlightening and fascinating, and definitely recommendable!
