Padraig gave an amazing tour! We were able to see some special spots on the beautiful island. Padraig shared a ton of information and stories about the Inishmore. He was informative, funny, and took great care of everyone. He also gingerly runs across the edge above The Wormhole to take amazing photos for anyone! Highly recommend this tour!
This tour is aptly named. It is an experience…and an incredible one. Padraig is a highly knowledgeable and engaging guide who shared the history of the island and his own family's connection to it, making the whole thing feel more personal. My daughter and I were both intent on shooting a lot of photos and video, and Padraig made it a point to give us the little bit of extra time we needed for that at each stop on the tour while still catering to what the other people in the group were interested in. I couldn't recommend this more highly.
Absolutely does not get any better than this!! Pádraig is a first-rate host in every way. The instructions provided ahead of time for us to follow on our arrival at the ferry dock were really great because they get you out of the crush of the big tour buses and horse carriages and over to a nice pick up area where their distinctive & well-marked vehicle is easy to spot. He greeted us and the other 2 families that were booked all by name and made us feel special the whole time. He took time to get to know each of us and customized the tour to the conditions of the day & the interests of the families. The places he took us and all of the background, context & history provided along the way gave us such a good feel for this unique part of the world. The rugged beauty of the landscape is like no where else we've experienced and the history that shaped the way it looks today is just awe-inspiring. Pádraig is so passionate & knowledgable about this beautiful place, this is no typical tour, this is an experience we won't forget.
10/10 recommend making the Aran Off Road Experience during your trip to County Galway. We hosted 10 GoPro video and photo creators for a road trip across the Island of Ireland, and visiting Inishmore was the first big adventure. Michael was the BEST guide, giving us an amazing tour of the island - it's history, geology, agriculture and residents. We drove from one side of the island to the other, going from rocky farmland to the dramatic cliff coastline including a stop at The Wormhole - a rectangular shaped blow hole that was naturally carved by thousands of years of exposure to wind and waves. Our final stop was at a small marketplace with food trucks, where we ate delicious lobster and crab rolls and fish and chips. It was a perfect day and an awesome immersion into Ireland!
Padraig - thank you for an absolutely incredible day touring us around Inis Mor! We only had one day here and you showed us so many things we wouldn’t have been able to access easily in one morning/afternoon. You were an absolute wealth of knowledge and went above and beyond for us. This was absolutely a highlight on our trip to Ireland and we would recommend to anyone who decides to visit the Aran Islands!
